Aliri scientist John Begley highlights an LC-MS biomarker assay recently developed for Coproporphyrin I and III in Human Plasma. This biomarker can be used to assess the organic anion transporting polypeptides OATB1/B3 inhibition or induction in early drug development, and eliminate the need for conducting extensive clinical drug-drug interaction (DDI) studies – saving sponsors considerable time and budget. They also explored the impact of heat treatment and achieved a first by separating plasmid DNA topological forms.
