Analyzing data implies getting to know people deeply, correlating variables, creating hypotheses, going beyond the number, asking about the employees and the customer experience and making data-based decisions to reach goals.

Yes. Not dissimilar in concept to the development and use of 'frameworks', often heralded the be all and end all of solving business-related people problems. If that was the case, HR could probably pack up tools as a profession.
