Carly Nelson is a talented goalkeeper on the Utah Royals women's soccer team whose skills on the field are matched only by her courage and authenticity in living her truth as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and a mental health advocate. Nelson is currently taking a mental health break from the Royals sharing on social media "I love this game with everything in me, but at the end of the day, it's just soccer. It began bleeding into my personal life and poisoning my love for the game. To me, that cost is far too high for me to continue." As a role model for inclusivity and acceptance, Carly's presence on the team brings a sense of unity and diversity that is truly inspiring. ⚽ #AFA #athletementalhealth #mentalhealth #CarlyNelson #womenssoccer #UtahRoyals #LGBTQ+ #PrideMonth

Role models matter. Creating safe spaces in sports and business matters. Inclusion matters.
Breaking barriers on and off the field, Carl Nassib made history in 2021 as the first active NFL player to come out as gay. Nassib's courageous decision was supported by the invaluable resources from the Trevor Project, which he credits with giving him the strength to embrace his true self after 15 years. By stepping forward, Carl has used his platform to advocate for greater support for LGBTQ youth, reaching audiences that might not typically engage with this vital message. At Positive Coaching Alliance, we celebrate Carl's leadership and commitment to making sports a more inclusive and supportive space. His story is a powerful reminder of the role athletes can play in driving social change. #CarlNassib #NFLPride #InclusionInSports #BeTrue #LGBTQSupport #RoleModelsInSports #ChangeMakers #TrevorProject #CourageInSports #positivecoaching

Today, on International Stand Up to Bullying Day, we need to address a critical issue: the alarming rate of bullying against LGBTQ+ individuals in Europe. Recent studies reveal that nearly 85% of LGBTQ+ youth have experienced bullying and 60% of them did not report incidents to school staff, often due to fear of consequences. These numbers aren't just statistics; they represent real people facing real struggles. Bullying can lead to severe mental health issues and hinder the development of a supportive, inclusive community. Let's use this day to amplify our support for the LGBTQ+ community and take a firm stand against all forms of bullying. Together, we can build a Europe where everyone, regardless of who they love or how they identify, is respected and safe. 🌈 #StandUpToBullying #rainbowplatform #lgbtqi #liberal #european #europe #politics #equality

Facing homelessness and having to find suitable private rental accommodation is already incredibly hard. For someone who identifies as LGBTQ+ this challenge is often magnified. It's not just about finding a place to stay, but finding a home with roommates, landlords, and a local area that is LGBTQ+ friendly. The importance of safety and security cannot be overstated. It's crucial to find somewhere you can live comfortably and authentically as yourself. Your home should be a place of refuge where you feel respected and accepted. If you’re thinking about listing a room or know someone who is, think about how to advertise this in as much of an inclusive way as is possible . Also, have discussions with those around you about what more can be done to make people feel welcomed and safe. #LGBTQ #Homelessness #SafeHousing #InclusiveCommunity
