It probably doesn’t come as a surprise that there’s a growing need for support in communities across Australia. Increasing financial pressures and a significant lack of housing are adding to emotional stresses and sadly driving more Australians into hardship and homelessness. October 10th is World Homeless Day - coinciding with Orange Sky's 9th birthday in Australia. Nine years on, Orange Sky is helping more friends than ever before - providing over 50,000 loads of laundry, 4,500 hot showers, and more than 55,000 hours of conversation to 16,000 people doing it tough across Australia so far this year. Homelessness is a complex issue, one that is not solved easily, but Orange Sky's simple and practical service - offering free laundry, warm showers and genuine connection, which we know can make a huge difference in the lives of those in need. Many of us are blessed with warm beds, secure roofs over our heads, and a support network to lean on. However, countless individuals in our community face the harsh reality of homelessness every day.
