  •  21st February – International Mother Language Day Celebrate linguistic and cultural diversity by promoting the importance of mother languages around the world. You can highlight how language helps build community and identity, especially for migrant children and families. It’s a fun day to share stories, quotes, or videos in different languages! #MotherLanguageDay #LinguisticDiversity #LanguageMatters   Language Matters International Mother Language Day is a celebration of linguistic and cultural diversity around the world. Language helps to build life changing relationships, enhanced communication and valuable collaborations. Providing counselling in a client’s own language can be crucial to fostering understanding and recognition of cultural differences. Language is often deeply intertwined with cultural heritage, identity, traditions, and values. Our offer of evidence-based, clinical counselling, available in 20 different languages, supports clients to process their experiences, using language and terminology that makes sense to them. Pure Insights is focused on putting the client’s needs at the forefront of what we do, removing barriers to engagement and providing a service that gives tangible benefit. Being able to offer this service in a client’s mother tongue is another way we advocate for their needs and acknowledge the importance of how the language we choose can make the extra difference. We choose to prioritise inclusive communication and respect linguistic diversity.  Let's strive to understand and celebrate the languages of others, recognising the power of language and its impact for those we support. #MotherLanguageDay #LinguisticDiversity #LanguageMatters

  • Time to Talk Day It’s Time to Talk …. Did you know 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem in any given year. Time to Talk Day is the nation’s biggest mental health conversation and sometimes a conversation might just have the power to change a life. Time to Talk Day was launched in 2014 by Time to Change, it was a campaign striving to end the stigmas surrounding mental health and the discrimination that can follow. The campaign was led by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness. Today is a reminder to make space for talking about your mental health, with family, with friends and with colleagues. Ask the people in your life if they want to talk about it. Sometimes opening up can be hard and it’s easier to say ‘I’m fine’ or ‘don’t worry about it’ but being open and honest is the first step and you don’t need to have all the answers. Let’s keep pushing for a world where conversations about mental health are the norm and together, we can make a difference – one conversation at a time. #TimeToTalk

  • 🤍 This week (2nd-8th December) is National Grief Awareness Week 🤍 Led by the Good Grief Awareness Trust, this week is all about shining a light on people, places, and projects that help people through some of the most difficult times in their lives. Grief affects everyone differently and there is no right or wrong way to grieve after the death of someone close to you. The Good Grief Trust offers help and support to people in the UK who have been affected by grief. This years campaign includes celebrating and showcasing the work being done to support those who are grieving. Recognising those who offer a lifeline and hope in times of grief. The intention is to help raise greater awareness of the outstanding bereavement services up and down the country. Today and this week, we are reminded of the importance of compassion and support for colleagues dealing with loss. Together, we are committed to building a workplace where everyone feels safe and supported, what ever they may be going through. #NationalGriefAwarenessWeek #ShineALight #EmployeeWellbeing We share the drawing done by Charlie Mackesy in support of National Grief Awareness Week 2023 but still feels as pertinent today. • With the UK economy seeing a fall in employment rates over the last 5 years, yesterday marked the Government’s first major intervention to achieve their ambitious objective of an 80% employment rate. On November 26th, the government published their awaited white paper unveiling their plans to ‘Get Britain Working’, backed by a £240 million investment. Key announcements included: ▶️ Improved integration of health and employment support, advocating a joined-up strategy across government, NHS and employment support services. ▶️ Promises to prioritise prevention and early intervention. Addressing the risk factors and inequalities that precipitate economic activity. ▶️ Youth Guarantee, with every young person able to access an apprenticeship, quality training and education opportunities. ▶️ An overhaul in the approach of the Job Centre, putting relationship building at the forefront and a commitment to move away from a ‘tick box’ culture. ▶️ An expansion of mental health support and an increase in capacity to address the local need. ▶️ Plans for an independent review into how employers can be better supported to employ people with disabilities and health conditions. We understand that true shifts in the employability space and enhancements in workplace wellbeing require more than policy changes, rather we hope to see fundamental changes in how the relationship between work and health is viewed and acknowledge our role in achieving this together. 💭 What are your thoughts on these reforms? 💭 What role can we all play in making this happen?
