🎯 5G RedCap-Reduced Capability (NR-Lite) with a promise to revolutionize the IoT connectivity landscape was introduced in 3GPP Rel-17 with the aim to accelerate the adoption of 5G SA. 👉 This is a game changer, which would not only serve to bridge the gap between existing low-data-rate 4G Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and advanced 5G networks but also for massive Machine-Type Communications (mMTC) and enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB) within the 5G ecosystem. 👉 Major telco giants are strategically investing in RedCap, as it promises higher data rates than existing LTE networks with simpler hardware designs and at a lower cost. 👉 RedCap is gaining traction with its ability to reduce power consumption compared to traditional 5G New Radio (NR) interfaces and existing 4G IoT devices which translates to extended battery life, alongside lower system complexity and reduction in cost, achieved through the optimization of carrier bandwidth and implementation of efficient modulation schemes. Get ready for a new era of connectivity with RedCap! #telecom #wireless #triviaTime

❓When discussing network connectivity, we often talk to our clients about 5G Standalone vs Non-Standalone networks. What does it mean? What is the difference between these two kinds of network? 🛜 The core network is what makes the biggest difference between 5G Standalone (SA) and Non-Standalone (NSA). Specifically, 5G NSA involves laying the 5G radio access network (RAN) over an existing 4G LTE network, whereas 5G SA requires a new 5G packet core network. What is the 5G SA used for? The fasted data rate allows for multiple applications, in specific it can be split into three groups: 🔹 mMTC 🔹 emBB 🔹Critical IoT ✅ At Intelliport , we excel in delivering cutting-edge machine-to-machine communication and IoT solutions tailored for industrial applications, leveraging our extensive expertise and strategic partnerships to ensure reliability and adaptability. Our industrial routers are integral to the utility and energy sectors, providing robust connectivity and facilitating seamless data transmission for enhanced operational efficiency. #5G #network #connectivity #IoT #M2M #utility #energy #efficiency

🛜 5G NSA vs 5G SA—these two things are part of the same journey towards full 5G deployments (link in the comment for more info). While 5G Non-Standalone (NSA) networks provide faster speeds, they still rely on a 4G core network. The true potential of 5G lies in its Standalone (SA) architecture. 5G SA, with its dedicated 5G core network, unlocks transformative capabilities like ultra-low latency and network slicing. ✅ Today, many 5G deployments are NSA. But as 5G evolves, 5G SA will become the dominant standard. IoTAS can complete 5G Network Testing NSA (Non-standalone) and SA (Standalone) – covering FR1 and FR2 (mmWave). IoTAS work with both handset manufacturers as well as Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) to complete 5G testing. 🤔 The MVNO was facing issues with a device registering on their 5G network and needed our help to identify the cause of the connection issue. ✅ IoTAS arranged for an engineer to attend the MNO’s lab to investigate the connection issue. 🙌🏻 After the MNO enabled the feature on their end, we could verify they were able to successfully register onto the MVNO’s 5G network. #WirelessTesting #MobileDevices #TechForGood #IoT #IoTCertification
