Senior In-House Recruiter (Experienced Hires) , turning career dreams into dream careers since 2006 ⭐️⭐️views expressed are my own ⭐️⭐️
As I'm often heard saying, my team and I aren't just simply waiting for CV's to come to us 😁 Part of my role is to come up with ideas that will help us with small gains when it comes to enhancing our branding as an employer of choice. Over the years I've developed and continue to maintain our Glassdoor page, largely been the voice behind some little LinkedIn page called LCP life and careers (yes, it's mostly me, as if you hadn't already guessed that) and been a small part of a much bigger team shaping our careers page. Finally, my piste de resistance, and the 🍒 on top is this - https://lnkd.in/eJUiAiV9 Our very own Candidate Charter, or as we like to call it - Recruitment CARES It's our way, both experienced hire and early careers recruitment, of being #accountable (handily one of LCP's values) when it comes to a candidate's experience. We don't, and won't, claim to be perfect, but we will always do our very best to give candidates that choose to apply for one of our roles the best experience we can at that given time. Very few businesses, in any sector, publish a candidate commitment. I am very proud that we have. #recruiterlife #recruitmentmatters #inhouserecruitment #candidatefocussed #nopressure

🌟 Impressed by Severn Trent's Exceptional Candidate Experience! 🌟 With 20 years in recruitment, I've seen it all - the good, the bad, and the downright ugly when it comes to candidate experience. But recently, watching my 17-year-old daughter take her first steps into the professional world has made the process feel personal and intriguing. Severn Trent, I have to commend you. Your approach to Apprentice recruitment is exemplary. The information provided on your careers site is spot on - informative yet engaging, with insightful video content that truly brings the roles to life. My daughter found it incredibly helpful to hear from actual apprentices about their experiences, giving her a real sense of what to expect. What truly sets Severn Trent apart is their consideration for candidates. By not requiring a CV upfront, you eliminate unnecessary stress for applicants like my daughter who may find crafting one daunting. Your bespoke Situational Judgment Test provides invaluable insight into the business, using real examples really captivated and immersed my daughter into what the role could be like. The way your brand, purpose and values are introduced and explained is brilliant. My daughter really understood it clearly. And in the assessment, I particularly loved it when she said 'I like Nina, I hope Nina is my manager' after reading the teams conversation content :) Moreover, the seamless consideration for adjustments and clear communication at every step of the process are commendable. Just 24 hours after her application, my daughter has been invited to complete the numerical test, with ample resources available to aid her preparation. I also love the fact you are using a strengths based approach. Its made it so much easier for my daughter to share who she really is with you. Severn Trent, you've set the bar high. I eagerly anticipate seeing how this application journey unfolds! 👏 #CandidateExperience #SevernTrent #RecruitmentExcellence

How do you know if you’re seeing the best candidate for the role or just the ones with polished resumes? We’re helping recruiters get it right by assessing real skills – from problem-solving to communication – before you even meet the candidate. It’s about giving grads the chance to shine based on what they can do, not where they’ve been. Let’s stop relying on guesswork and start focusing on potential. How do you filter through graduate applications? Come chat to Tim Cincotta and I at Australian Association of Graduate Employers (AAGE) conference this week!

Its good to talk. Following employer requests at our recent Employer Forum, we are excited to be planning recruitment events with them. These days will be set aside for employers to set practical tasks in our workshops and observe potential apprentices at work prior to interviews. We truly believe that the best way to find the perfect match between employers and apprentices is through hands-on experiences and face-to-face interactions. These recruitment days will not only benefit employers by giving them a real insight into the capabilities of our students, but will also give our students the chance to showcase their skills in a practical setting. We are committed to creating successful partnerships that benefit both employers and apprentices alike. Stay tuned for more information on these upcoming recruitment days and how you can get involved. It's good to talk, but it's even better to see our learners in action! 💼🔧🔨 #EmployerForum #RecruitmentDays #ApprenticeshipOpportunities #TrainingAndDevelopment #LinkedInAnnouncement #HandsOnExperience #ChesterfieldCollege

In my employability skills module, we investigated various characteristics that hiring managers seek in their candidates. In this exercise, we were instructed to select a position that piqued our interest. Subsequently, we were required to compile a list of the skills that we believed recruitment managers would require from applicants and to compare them with the actual requirements. We were then instructed to evaluate our personal skills and determine how they could be utilised and how they would benefit in the chosen position.
