We're so pleased that today's 'Networking 101' session went down a treat with students soon to be attending the Bright Network's Bright Festival 2024! The Learning and Development session, hosted by Neave Taylor and Jum Lamont explored the different types of networking and how to make the most of these connections, equipping the next generation with the skills some organisations are finding that Gen Z hires are lacking. We're glad the students found the session useful! #GenZ #Networking #SoftSkills #Learning

I recently had the pleasure of attending the "Networking 101 with Amberjack Global" webinar, hosted by the insightful Jum Lamont and Neave Taylor. The session emphasized the vitality of networking and forming connections, not just for career development but also for personal and professional growth. The well-known phrase "It's not what you know, it's who you know" was central to the discussion, underscoring the immense value that networking brings to our lives. Both Jum and Neave provided invaluable insights on various aspects of networking. They explored the importance of different types of networking—traditional, digital, mentorship, and sponsorship—and offered guidance on who to connect with and how to maintain those connections effectively. Neave highlighted a particularly striking statistic: networking alone is responsible for 85% of all jobs, demonstrating just how critical it is in the job market today. Throughout the webinar, we were equipped with key strategies to build and nurture our networks, skills I’m excited to put into practice at the upcoming Bright Festival 2024. A huge thank you to Amberjack Global and Bright Network for making this webinar possible and for helping me, and many others, to apply these essential skills in our futures.
