The swift apology from AMC leaders following the incident with Bishop William Barber and the lack of reasonable accommodations is a positive step towards accountability. Acknowledging the mistake and committing to improvement is crucial, especially when ensuring accessibility for all patrons. AMC must follow this commitment by implementing concrete measures to enhance accessibility for differently-abled folx in their theaters. This incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing need for businesses to prioritize accessibility and be responsive to their customer base's diverse needs. #AMCTheatres #Accessibility #ReasonableAccommodations #EquityandInclusion

Introducing an extended preview of Cinema Noir. When a civilization or empire is at its lowest point, artists serve as crucial truth-tellers and agents of social change, reshaping narratives, dismantling stereotypes, and amplifying marginalized voices. At the core of every brand lies the essence of its creators, their profound connection with consumers, and their commitment to evoke emotions. Cinema Noir stands as a beacon of this new paradigm, where film and media converge to forge a bond with our audience. Our distinctiveness lies in our ability to resonate deeply with individuals, transcending mere storytelling to evoke raw emotions and catalyze meaningful change. https://lnkd.in/ehTAJbGP

**AMC Awareness Day: Embracing Challenges, Celebrating Strength** Today, we honor AMC Awareness Day, a day to shine a light on Arthrogryposis, a congenital condition characterized by joint contractures—where some joints don’t move as much as they should—and muscle weakness. Living with AMC has shaped my journey in profound ways, revealing strength and resilience that I might never have discovered otherwise. Having AMC means that every day presents unique challenges, but it also unveils remarkable capabilities. This condition has taught me to be bold, to persevere in the face of obstacles, and to impact others by raising awareness and fostering understanding. AMC has given me the courage to be a pioneer in my own life and in the community. It’s a testament to human spirit and determination. By navigating my path with AMC, I have learned the true meaning of bravery and discovered the depths of my potential. What might appear as impossibilities to some have become opportunities for growth and innovation for me. AMC has allowed me to see past limitations and focus on endless possibilities. It has been a journey of transforming challenges into victories, of showing that with the right mindset, anything can be achieved. I celebrate AMC not as a hindrance, but as a source of empowerment. It has enabled me to inspire others, to advocate for awareness, and to spread a message of hope. On this special day, I am incredibly grateful for my family and friends. Their constant support and encouragement have been the backbone of my journey. They have always believed in me, pushed me to never give up on my dreams, and stood by me through every challenge. Because of their love and support, I am determined to continue making a positive impact on the world. #amchk #blueforamc💙 #staystrong #awareness #day #2024 #hongkong #disability #positivity #spreadthelove

**Celebrating 35 Years of Inclusive Theatre with Back to Back Theatre 🎭** We draw immense inspiration from pioneers like Back to Back Theatre, a Geelong-based ensemble leading the charge in inclusive theatre. For over three decades, this remarkable company has not only put neurodivergent and artists with disability in the spotlight but also passionately challenged societal attitudes toward disability and neurodiversity. Founded in 1987, Back to Back Theatre showcases the rich narratives of artists who have historically been side-lined in the arts sector. Their latest critically acclaimed production, “The Shadow Whose Predecessor Died”, exemplifies the unique, compelling perspectives these artists bring to the stage. But their impact doesn’t end with curtain calls. Back to Back Theatre extends its influence through essential training and mentorship for emerging artists, ensuring a lasting legacy and a progressively inclusive future in the arts. As they mark their 35th anniversary, it's clear there's still much work to be done. Artistic Director Bruce Gladwin reminds us, “We're still fighting for the same things we were fighting for 35 years ago.” Yet, despite hurdles, their unwavering commitment lights the way forward. We believe in learning from such trailblazers. How can we, across all industries, foster similar environments of inclusivity and diversity? 🤔 Sharing your insights and experiences can spark further change! #InclusiveArts #BackToBackTheatre #DisabilityInclusion #Neurodiversity #Path2LifeCare #ArtsAndCulture #SocialImpact #NDIS #Disabilitysupport

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Consultant supporting arts organisations to create a truly inclusive working environment.
I think this is probably our best offer for clients. For a modest fee, arts organisations are able to join us to drive their inclusion and diversity work. As ever, we move beyond the obvious issues of unconscious bias etc. into the gritty topics which can prevent or advance organisational success. We cover 11 separate topics including: · How to deliver inclusion on a budget · Recruiting and hiring inclusively · Engaging your Board · Supporting your employee resource groups · Exploring representation in audiences Each organisation can bring 5 people which means collaboration. Collaboration within the organisation and across the cohort of organisations which take part in this programme. Sessions are recorded for access purposes meaning people can dip into the learning when they are ready, or go back and check something. Such great value. Not for you, share with someone who it might benefit. #learning #equitydiversityandinclusion #culturechange #inclusionstrategy #diversity #arts #performingarts #development
We are excited to be running our third cohort of EDI in the Arts. Our next cohort begins in September which will be here before we know it! In the programme we support organisations to embed their inclusion strategy and overcome their challenges in an informative and collaborative manner. There are limited spaces, so if you are interested in joining us please make sure you register your interest here https://buff.ly/3Pk13dL #equitydiversityinclusion #arts #artsandculture #leadership #inclusionleadership #inclusionmatters #theatre #dance #music #diversity #hr #training #education #onlinetraining #learning #inclusion #equity #development
