Ticking time bombs Abandoned and idle oil and gas wells: risk for pulbic health, environment and climate. The oil and gas industry is too often not to be trusted. This video also exposes failed government supervision. The next example of how carelessly our earth is treated. Also in the North Sea not everything is in order. For more, see this video. https://lnkd.in/gCJ6s6yA On the road to alternative energy, natural gas will be an important transition fuel to keep our economy moving. Arkansas joined many other states to advocate for more sensible rules on methane reporting for oil and gas producers. The new methane reporting rules threaten the economic viability of natural gas stripper wells that account for roughly 10% of the gas produced in the USA. The new rule also threatens the continued viability of mom and pop gas producers who contribute heavily to our nation's natural gas inventories. The super-emitter provision is going to fuel litigation with the EPA, ensuring a difficult times for our small, independent gas producers in Arkansas. We won't make it to new zero without a hero--that hero is domestically-produced natural gas!

For years, Western communities have called for common-sense oil and gas reforms so that we aren’t left to foot the bill for the messes the oil and gas companies leave on our public lands. It’s time for the U.S. Department of the Interior to hear our calls to finalize the rule. #OilAndGasReformNow #ReformLeasing #PublicLands #CleanUpOilWells

The combination of new regulatory measures and the availability of advanced detection technologies has created momentum to reduce methane emissions from the oil and natural gas sector. As these federal methane rules are developed, there is an opportunity to consider how they can be designed to work together effectively and collectively create incentives to reduce emissions to the greatest degree. Oil and gas companies are the 45Q tax credit’s biggest boosters but there’s almost no verification or accountability that recipients are actually capturing and storing carbon to reduce emissions. Is 45Q worth it? Watch @taxpayers video and get the facts at www.Taxpayer.net/45q
