How Brigade is helping to cultivate safety in agriculture🚜 The agriculture industry has a high rate of fatalities and serious injuries, ranking among the most dangerous professions in the United States. The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health identified machinery-related accidents as the second leading cause of traumatic occupational fatalities. Tractors had both the highest frequency and fatality rates of all machinery types, followed by harvesting machinery and power tools. The well-being of our farmers and agricultural workers is vital to strong communities and the U.S. economy. Technology reduces the safety hazards around large equipment and machinery protecting farm workers and children. Safety solutions– protection for all Blind spots are a frequent problem for agricultural machinery just like they are for other large vehicles, such as HGVs. Operator visibility is frequently impaired, even in modern machinery is designed to offer maximum efficiency to increase yield and productivity. Our state-of-the-art camera systems, radar obstacle detection, back up and warning alarms and vehicle CCTV have helped to transform farming safety for customers all over the world. For example, Brigade’s Backeye®360 camera monitor systems use four cameras to create one bird’s-eye image of the area surrounding an agricultural vehicle. Drivers can monitor the camera picture in real time, helping them with maneuver without having to check multiple mirrors. Our Radar On-Screen Display (OSD) integrates up to two sensors and a camera. The on-screen display warns the driver of obstacles in the danger zone by overlaying 5-stage audible and visual radar data onto the camera image on the monitor. Our Radar IP69K Water and Dust Proof Display has a 5-stage adjustable audible and visual distance warning display. It works in all terrains and weather conditions making it suitable for vehicles with external cabs or those exposed to the elements. Learn how to outfit your ag equipment and other on/off road vehicles by calling 260-766-4343 or visit our website www.brigade-inc.com

New Year, New EU Laws for 2024! Probably the most important regulatory change for the tire industry in 2024 will come into force in the second half of the year. From October 1, 2024, only winter and all-season tires with the "Alpine" or 3PMSF symbol (Three Peak Mountain Snowflake) will be allowed on the road in wintery conditions in Germany, with tires marked with the "M+S" symbol (indicating suitability for use in mud and snow) no longer qualifying as suitable winter tires. This new regulation is not a complete ban on tires with this symbol, and the M+S symbol will continue to appear on standard winter tires. A new ‘black box’ or EDR (Event Data Recorder) device regulation will apply to all new EU commercial vehicles from July 7, 2024 (EU Regulation 2019/2144) and is intended to help reconstruct the causes of accidents. An EDR is usually located in the airbag control unit and collects data from the vehicle’s acceleration sensors. For 5 seconds before, and 3,000 milliseconds after an accident, speed, engine speed, steering angle and airbag deployment data is stored to provide detailed information about the nature of the accident. These new regulations also require all new EU commercial vehicles to install and equip reversing, lane keeping and emergency braking assistance systems. New toll regulations will also take effect in Germany from July, with vans weighing 3.5 tonnes or more subject to tolls under the German Federal Highway Toll Act (BFStrMG). This particularly affects companies with mixed fleets, freight forwarders, parcel services, delivery services and companies with smaller vans. Exemptions apply to rescue vehicles, THW vehicles, fire brigade vehicles, civil protection services, agriculture and forestry vehicles, as well as camping and craft vehicles.

https://lnkd.in/dN6JF-rQ It still makes sense in the third millennium to publish in the AD Chart (of an unattended airport) remarks like the following?: "CAUTION: Bird hazard. Birds seasonally on aerodrome and larger number present on the outlying fields when irrigation or cultivation taking place." What help can a pilot get from this? Or will the help provided only for the airport operator?

#WeeklySafetyTopic: Sharing The Road with Ag Equipment 🚜 It does not matter what we are driving - A car, truck, motorcycle, or a combine or tractor – we all share the same public roadways. Road safety is everyone’s responsibility because our actions on the road affect more than just ourselves. Here are some tips to help keep everyone safe while sharing the road: 🚜Be aware of agricultural equipment on the roads, especially during Spring and Fall when it's busiest. 🚜Slow down when approaching agricultural machinery as they travel slower than regular traffic. 🚜Leave plenty of space between your vehicle and ag equipment to avoid potential debris and know when it's safe to pass. Let's work together to keep our roads safe for everyone! 🚗🚜 Learn More: https://ow.ly/U6wN50RmGjP #PattisonAg #PattisonAgSafety
