Solar power, a clean and renewable energy source, has been a game-changer. However, finding suitable land for establishing solar panels is often challenging. A groundbreaking project has overcome this hurdle in Gujarat, India, by adopting an innovative method.
Here is an inspiring tale from Gujarat! The 10-megawatt Canal Top Solar Power Project established here symbolises exceptional work in engineering and innovation.
As the name suggests, solar panels have been placed atop a brand canal of the River Narmada, which stretches 5 kilometres. By utilising the space above the canal, the project reduces the need for additional land and minimises water evaporation while harnessing the power of the sun to generate clean energy. This project demonstrates a unique way of integrating development with environmental consciousness.
Solar Photovoltaic Crystalline Technology has been implemented to convert sunlight into electricity. This technology involves arranging crystalline silicon solar cells into panels. Over 33,000 of these panels have been installed, producing clean electricity with minimal environmental impact.
PV Krishna Reddy, Managing Director of Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited, is the driving force behind executing this innovative project. His passion for cutting-edge technology and pioneering solutions has driven the successful execution of several such innovative projects across India.
His remarkable vision has led to the project's recognition in KPMG's 'Top 100 innovative engineering projects across the globe.' It is more than just a solar power project; it is a shining example of how forward-thinking solutions can create a sustainable future.
This project was commissioned in April 2012 and has been generating clean energy for over a decade. MEIL takes pride in executing such a transformative project!

☀️ Sodium-ion batteries present a promising opportunity to enhance the efficiency of the world's largest solar plant at Khavda in Gujarat. At such a large scale of operations, these batteries offer a reliable storage solution for the intermittent nature of solar energy production, ensuring a consistent electricity supply even during periods of low sunlight & wind or at night.
✅ By storing excess solar power during peak production periods, sodium-ion batteries can contribute to grid stability and prevent disruptions in electricity supply.
🔋 These batteries will also enable load balancing by efficiently managing the distribution of electricity across the grid, optimizing the use of renewable energy resources and further reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
✅ Additionally, sodium-ion batteries facilitate peak shaving, reducing electricity consumption during periods of high demand and alleviating strain on the grid. Their increased flexibility and ability to operate effectively in harsh environmental conditions in desert of Gujrat, make them well-suited for deployment in large-scale solar plants like Khavda.
🤝 We invite all industrial leaders in sustainable energy to integrate sodium-ion batteries into their power plant's infrastructure not only to improve its efficiency but also to support India's ambitious renewable energy goals, driving towards a more sustainable and resilient energy future.
📈 Indi-Energy is here to support every project that wants to replace its traditional technology with new age Sodium-ion tech building reliable and sustainable innovation.

Mumbai-based sustainable energy company Avaada Group has announced an investment of Rs 40,000 crore for the development of hybrid wind-solar projects in Gujarat.
The development, encompassing 6,000 MW (6 GW) capacity, was announced alongside the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024.
Avaada Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Gujarat government with a key focus on setting up hybrid wind-solar projects across various districts of Gujarat, primarily in the underdeveloped wastelands of Kutch.
According to a PTI report, The projects aim to supply power to different utilities in India, including GUVNL, and for Avaada's own green hydrogen/ammonia projects.
The development is expected to generate 17.5 billion units of green electricity annually, reducing around 16.3 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent emissions each year.

Located in Khavda, Gujarat, India, a remote airstrip serves as the gateway to the world's largest renewable energy park, covering 538 square kilometers, which is approximately five times larger than Paris.
Initially barren and lacking infrastructure, the area now hosts solar panels, wind turbines, worker colonies, desalination plants, and more, thanks to investments by Adani Green Energy Ltd.
The park aims to generate 30 megawatts of clean electricity initially, with plans for significant expansion in the coming years.
How do you think the development of the world's largest renewable energy park will impact India's energy landscape and contribute to global sustainability efforts?

#PanelsOfIndia#KarnatakaEdition - I am a solar panel located in the picturesque village of Bellary, Karnataka. I am a part of the 225 MW Vijaynagar Solar Power Plant installed by JSW Energy Ltd#renewables, I am a beacon of sustainable energy. I along with other panels was Commissioned on April 7th, 2022, standing as the largest captive solar power plant. I have been dedicatedly supplying power under the group captive scheme for over 25 years now. I am a part of India’s Largest Single-location Captive Solar Power Plant at 400 kV Power Evacuation with such high-capacity transmission capabilities.
I have a monumental contribution to reducing carbon emissions, I approximately cut down 317 Mn Tons of CO2 annually. I am committed not only to green practices but also to the socio-economic benefits that I bring along. The local population near the plant is actively engaged in construction activities. Involving them in my installation helps transforming their livelihoods and contributing to the growth trajectory of the region. In fact, My cleaning plays a vital role in land vitality, enhancing the under-irrigated land and maintaining the groundwater level enabling the Farming of Groundnut, Ladyfinger, Brinjal, Tomato, etc. Simultaneously, modern technology like Dry robot cleaning has also been deployed.
My journey encapsulates, bringing together technology, commitment, and sustainability. Despite the hardships like COVID-19-related disruptions, elevated commodity prices, and global supply chain outages did try to become a hurdle in my journey to create a greener tomorrow, but ultimately the Sun is Shining bright illuminating everyone's life I touch.
