This is a really useful summary by PADEL1969 into where padel is heading based on the work of Playtomic and Deloitte.
Looking at this from a PR perspective (and you can throw marketing into it), the market across all strands is going to get competitive.
If you're a racquet / footwear / apparel manufacturer or retailer - how are you going to ensure it is your products that players are going to buy?
If your developing padel centres - aside from geography - how are you going to appeal to padel players to come to your venue? This also goes for coaching.
Now is the time to strategise and put a budget into your marketing and PR aside from your product or service. If you don't invest in getting the messaging right and not using professional services to promote those messages, to build awareness, then 2024 will be about those that do.
If you want to get some professional advice on how to strategise and deliver your PR, hone your messages and reach a wider audience, get in touch.

🗽 What's happening with padel in North America?
We tuned in to MejorSet Padel Courts webinar with Anastasia Biryukova, Hernan Auguste, Ana M. Claver and Mario S. to understand what's happening with padel as it moves into 2024.
A hurricane resistant padel court may have been the showstopper of MejorSet’s webinar into the padel boom in North America – but it also shared many key insights as the continent embraces the sport.
While the new court may withstand gusts of up to 250km an hour – the real ‘eye’ of the webinar was the ‘exponential’ pace at which the sport is expected to grow in 2024.
Padel may still be in its infancy in North America, however from featuring on the Today Show to the advent of the Pro Padel League with teams from across the US, Canada and Mexico, the sport is gaining traction.
The panel had some sage advice and insights for those looking to capitalise and be part of the padel boom in North America.
Sweetspot founder Lee McLaughlan MCIPR has selected some of the key takeaways from the webinar.
✴ PadelBox is marking its 10th year in the US and Ana commented it has taken this long to actually see padel ‘finally growing’ across the continent.
✴ Six years ago padelBOX was supplying 1-3 courts a year but during the pandemic saw the start of the growth and the business is now installing 20-25 courts annually to mainly residential customers and also country clubs.
✴ Orders used to be for two or three courts but this has now increased to six to 10 courts per location.
✴ The barriers to accessing padel – courts only been at private clubs – have been removed over the past 12-18 months with more open access facilities, increasing the number of people playing the sport.
✴ Padel courts across the US are at maximum capacity after 4pm – pushing the demand for more facilities.
✴ The biggest challenges to growth are identifying the right locations for a club – particularly an indoor one.
✴ To be a profitable club, consider not just the location and the number of courts but also your rental costs. You need to be able to control your rent.
✴ Have a solid business plan and think ahead – it is not just about the now. Make sure you ask - what is my competition going to look like in three to five years? How will that impact your business?
✴ Look at your revenue streams outside of the court – racquets, footwear, apparel etc.
✴ Build a community and ensure ‘social’ is at the core. Padel’s strength is its social element so venues need to factor that into their plans – from having a bar / café to tournaments and events.
✴ Have a coach. Players want to improve and want to play and win tournaments. It’s not all about friendly games! Having a coach will be an additional attraction.
✴ Pickleball isn’t the enemy! Padel can embrace players from other racket sports – particularly pickleball - not see them as rivals.
