As many of you know, the TCS NYC Marathon is this Sunday, November 5. In just a few hours, some 50,000 people from more than 140 countries will test themselves in ways most of us can only imagine.   You don’t have to be an athlete to know that completing a marathon takes strength, endurance, and adaptability. It’s about going the distance, not just a quick sprint.   As the official title sponsor and tech partner of the NYC Marathon, we’re increasingly interested in what enterprise fitness means to business. Especially for marketers and growth leaders. Can your team go the distance? What are the qualities required of a company healthy enough to go all the way? And how can C-suites help apply that wisdom to building brands?   Last night, we took over the best restaurant in NYC (per the Times), Tatiana by Kwame Onwuachi, and posed the question of what business can learn from the world of sports to four esteemed panelists and some 50+ industry leaders.   It was a great night: lots of energetic and enriching conversations, some serious food; some serious food for thought with great guests, many of whom have been dear friends and peers for years.   My top 3 takeaways from the evening:    1. Leadership is a team sport. Duh. But the best execs truly know their strengths and weaknesses—and actively surround themselves with *different* types of talent. 2. Challenge yourself to always change how you show up. It keeps your colleagues on their toes and forces you to stay engaged. Don’t run every mile at the same pace. 3. We all need more sleep than we think we do.   A special thanks to our panelists @hansvestberg, CEO of Verizon, @harveyspevak, Executive Chairman and Managing Partner, Equinox Group, @evelynwebster, CEO, SoulCycle, and our co-host Nicholas Thompson CEO, Atlantic Media for the first-class convening authority. A shout-out to TCS CMO Abhinav Kumar, TCS North America Chairman, @SureshMuthuswami, Kamal Bhadada President of TCS Interactive, and the tireless (while sometimes sleepless) Ranganathan Sundaram. #CMOinsights #marketing #enterprisefitness Tata Consultancy Services TCS Interactive Equinox SoulCycle Inc. #verizon
