🎉 Great news for the City of Armadale! 🎉 We’re excited to celebrate the WA Cook Labor Government’s recent commitment, if re-elected, to invest $20 million into the Armadale Regional Recreation Reserve (ARRR). This is a huge win for one of Australia’s fastest-growing communities and a recognition of the vital role Perth’s growth areas play in housing our nation’s population. Research shows that infrastructure gaps exist in growth areas, particularly in access to essential community and sports infrastructure. The Australian Urban Observatory’s Capital City Growth Area Liveability Scorecards highlight that Perth’s growth suburbs have lower access to community and recreation facilities compared to non-growth areas. This funding commitment acknowledges the importance of these spaces in fostering social connection, wellbeing, and active lifestyles. We welcome investments like this that put growth areas at the top of the agenda. We look forward to seeing more commitments that ensure all Australians, no matter where they live, have access to the infrastructure they need.
