The project to duplicate the 87-kilometer railway line between Beni Mansour and Bejaia, an extension of the northern line, is progressing rapidly. Significant material and manpower reinforcements have been deployed at the construction sites, enabling the advancement of technical infrastructure and tunnels across various sections. This major project is designed to boost the economic appeal of Bejaia's commercial port and will also improve the transportation of passengers and goods across cities connected to the national railway network.
It was a privilege to witness a momentous occasion yesterday, with His Highness Amir Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, thus forging a stronger bond between our nations through multiple MoUs.
I was honoured to be part of this landmark day that included discussions and updates on the construction of the Diar Dushanbe residential complex in Tajikistan's capital between His Excellency President Rahmon and Ahmad Mohammad Noor Al Tayeb, Chief Investment Officer of Qatari Diar. The pressing need for the timely completion of upcoming phases of the residential complex was emphasized, recognizing the growing demand for modern infrastructure in Tajikistan's improving socio-economic landscape, including housing and contemporary large-scale shopping centers. Included in the comprehensive meeting agenda were talks addressing the robust partnership between Qatari Diar and Tajikistan. The President conveyed his satisfaction and delight at the significant role the esteemed real estate agent plays in contributing to his nation's progress and the development of its infrastructure. As the Director - Development and Project Delivery for Qatari Diar in Tajikistan, I am excited about the prominence this day is going to hold for Diar Dushanbe and all of our future projects in Tajikistan.
This is set to usher in a new phase of relations between Qatar and Tajikistan. The implemented agreements cover crucial areas, indicating a comprehensive approach to cooperation. The expectation is clear - this visit will bring our countries and people even closer together, fostering increased bilateral cooperation. Together, we are writing a story of friendship, cooperation, and mutual growth.

Morocco: New Railway Line to Connect Casablanca and Beni Mellal
The project aims to enhance connectivity and transportation infrastructure between major cities in Morocco by facilitating the movement of goods and passengers. It is expected to contribute to regional development and economic growth, particularly in the Beni Mellal-Khenifra region.
In addition to the Casablanca-Beni Mellal projects, Morocco has other plans to further expand its railway network. This includes the Kentira-Marrakech high-speed rail project. The 375-kilometer line connecting the two cities aims to revolutionize travel by reducing travel times and increasing efficiency. By 2040, the government aims to provide 80% of the country’s population with access to railway transportation, up from the current 50%.
