CREATING KNOWARE PT 3 – REFLECTIONS FROM Clare Somerville [ONE OF KNOWARE’S FOUNDERS] – CREATING A COMPANY Ok, we're a bunch of people working together. So far so good. Is that a company? Well, no, it takes more than that. We started off with some planning sessions. We had to find a location for these sessions and ended up in the Lifeguard building in Evans Bay. This was handy, had an upstairs meeting room but with no insulation and little or no heating, it would take more than a few sandwiches for lunch to thaw out. It soon became apparent that you do indeed need to spend time working on the company not just in it. Somehow this job fell to me with the tenuous question of whether one gets paid for this activity (which is of course done at the expense of doing paid client work). Yes, it does take money to run a successful company, and it takes time to sort through just how this is going to be managed fairly and equitably. More than just the sum of our parts - I've always believed that a good company should be more than the sum of its parts, that more minds are better than one. Part of the motivation for Knoware was the belief that by working together we can do more and do better. We all have different strengths, and the key is to play to those. I worked with Colin Harris for many years. He had a degree of technical excellence that was beyond my best efforts. I was good at chatting up people, defining the need and providing strategic advice on the best use of data to get the job done. We still had gaps and as time went on, and with the overhead of doing business particularly with government, we added in an Operations Manager to keep the cogs turning. We were very lucky to have Nicky Chalker and then later Suzanne Turner in this key role. They were both excellent and I consider both friends to this day. #BusinessAnniversary #21YearsStrong #MilestoneCelebration

We won the tender and implemented a large-scale redesign of Mareven's internal corporate portal. Mareven is a subsidiary of the international group of the same name, specializing in investments in the development, production and distribution of food products. Have you seen Rollton and BIGBON? Now you know who makes them. Mareven's slogan says that quality of life begins on your plate. Reinterpreting it to our case, let's say that a company's quality of life begins with its website. The first thing we did was dive into analytics and came to the conclusion that the outdated look and awkward navigation required an immediate update. After all, the site is used daily by more than 3000 employees of the company, and we would like to make their lives easier and clearer. To make the portal convenient for internal communication, we paid a lot of attention to the structure. The content of the site is a huge array of data containing tables, internal processes and regulations. We systematized all the data and integrated intuitive side navigation, which is typical of many modern service applications. As a result, we launched a modern corporate portal, which is easy to use and simplifies internal processes thanks to a clear and convenient navigation system. #brading #maraven #analytics #development

"🚗 Stuck in the Sand, But Not in Spirit! " A tale from the hatchery world 😂 During a recent visit to a poultry hatchery with our esteemed Colleagues from Automazioni Team , Al Maghnieh and Mauro Feltrin and Ahmed Selim from our partner Kubbar International, we encountered an unexpected adventure that perfectly encapsulates the essence of customer service: a blend of fun, challenge, and collaboration! ✌ As luck would have it, our vehicles found themselves firmly entrenched in the sand, seemingly determined to cancel our plans for the day. Yet, what could have been a frustrating setback quickly transformed into a memorable bonding experience. With a dash of humor and a whole lot of teamwork, we start collaborating utilizing snowy driving experiences, pushing the cars to solid ground. It was a sight to behold, as laughter filled the air amidst the sandy struggle. But here's the beauty of it all: despite the unforeseen obstacle, our commitment to serving our customers never wavered. With determination in our hearts and a shared sense of purpose, we rallied together, ensuring that nothing would stand in the way of fulfilling our obligations. And so, with perseverance and a touch of ingenuity, we eventually made our way to the hatchery, ready to tackle the tasks at hand with renewed vigor. It was a testament to the resilience of teamwork and the unwavering dedication to customer satisfaction. In the end, what could have been a mere hiccup in our journey turned into a story worth sharing, a reminder that even in the face of challenges, we can find moments of joy, Collaboration, and success.
