What an incredible opportunity for Copods to share the stage with industry leaders from around the globe at UX India 2024! The excitement around “AI: The Way of Life” was noticeable, with insights and discussions that truly resonated. A standout moment for me was Kate Moran's perspective on AI as the “UX intern.” This powerful analogy reminded us of the irreplaceable value of human intuition and creativity in our design processes. Sarah Gibbons also captivated the audience with her “Taste Equation,” emphasizing how unique perspectives, discernment, and effort shape our design sensibilities. Her words reinforced why the human element remains vital in our craft. Additionally, Mario Van der Meulen's thoughts on achieving design leadership through affirming conversations and expectations offered profound insights into nurturing designer growth. His reminder that “how you design, designs you” resonated deeply with many of us. Begga Hauksdottir’s approach to managing complex design processes in enterprise environments aligned perfectly with Copods' co-creation ethos. Alexa Curtis methods for managing vast portfolios and design teams across various verticals to create cohesive customer experiences were truly inspiring. I’m also thrilled to share that our presentation on “Leveraging Applied AI for Mission-Critical Decisions in Businesses” was received with enthusiasm! It’s always rewarding to see how our unique storytelling—mixed with Bollywood references—simplified complex concepts for a diverse audience. We explored how we tackle enterprise challenges by balancing experience design and engineering, while staying ahead of the curve by adopting AI mindfully to craft the experiences of tomorrow. If you’d like to learn more about our experience at UX India, check it out here: https://lnkd.in/dQ79MdXN We’ve captured all the key moments and insights from our session! 🚀 Project Highlight: ArtMart - Revolutionizing the Art Marketplace 🎨 I am excited to share another project from my 3rd semester for the course "Advanced Topics in User System Interaction" at Western Sydney University. This project focused on designing a prototype for ArtMart, a mobile app connecting artists and art enthusiasts in a dynamic, user-friendly marketplace. 🌟 Project Overview ArtMart, a prototype, aimed to address common challenges in existing art platforms by focusing on usability, customization, and intuitive design. - Custom Art Requests: Personalized system for bespoke artwork. - Push Notifications: Keep users updated and allow edits to requests. - Virtual Previews: Visualize art in personal spaces before purchase. 🛠️ Process For this project, we were required to use JustInMind as the prototyping tool, which was a new experience for me. Despite the initial learning curve and time constraints, I successfully: - Identified gaps in existing platforms like poor UX/UI, limited customization, and weak integration. - Designed clear paper wireframes focused on usability. - Built an interactive prototype under strict deadlines. 🎥 Watch a glimpse of my journey and the final prototype. 💡 What I Learned This course emphasized the importance of interaction design principles and thinking critically about user interfaces before development. I learned how: - Prioritizing user-centric design can create meaningful and effective solutions. - These insights have significantly improved my skills in UI/UX design and prototyping. 🤝 Acknowledgments I want to express my gratitude to Zhao Zou, for her invaluable guidance and support. Presenting the prototype to her was truly rewarding! This project was a challenging yet enriching experience that enhanced my UI/UX skills. #UIUXDesign #PrototypeDesign #InteractionDesign #ArtMarketplace #StudentProject #JustInMind

🌟 Calgary UX: 2024 in Numbers! 🌟 Measuring the impact of a UX community is really difficult, as we create long-lasting partnerships, friendships and experiences. As we kick off a new year, we’re excited to reflect on the incredible growth and milestones Calgary UX achieved in 2024. Here’s a snapshot of what we accomplished together: 📈 4,348+ Members 👋 594+ New Members 🎉 26 Events 🏢 21 In-Person Events 💻 5 Online Events 🙌 9,425+ RSVPs One noticeable change this past year: we hosted significantly fewer online events (5) compared to 29 in 2023. What does it mean to shape user experiences at Branchspace - digital reinvented? Meet Marian Pedrosa, UX/UI Designer at Branchspace, who shares with us what a typical day in her life looks like. 🌅 Morning Routine Every morning, I start my day by enjoying a quiet breakfast while I catch up on Slack and Asana. These platforms help me get a clear picture of my tasks and priorities, setting the tone for a productive day. 💡 Starting the Workday To kick off my workday, I dive into my daily tasks. I approach each of them with a sense of curiosity and eagerness, whether it's continuing where I left off or pivoting to a more urgent project. Each task is an opportunity to innovate and create meaningful user experiences. In the middle of the day, I attend a daily meeting with my project team. This meeting is essential for us to share updates on our respective projects, give and receive feedback, and ensure we're all aligned on project goals. After the meeting, I make any necessary adjustments based on the feedback received. Once the internal approvals are in place, I send the finalised work to our clients. 🚀 Afternoon Projects After lunch, I dive back into my projects. At Branchspace, I provide UX support for an airline. While their website is live, they often need to adapt elements, resolve issues, or create new features. Our Branchspace design team collaborates to develop multiple solutions to meet the client’s needs. 🏋️♀️ Afterwork When the workday ends, I head to crossfit. It’s a great way to stay active and unwind. Some evenings, I enjoy dinner and a movie, but often, I relax at home. I also enjoy sewing, which I picked up again a few months ago. It’s a soothing hobby that helps me relax at the end of the day. Interested in working at Branchspace? Navigating the path of creativity, I stumbled upon a revelation – ideas flourish in diversity. Leading the Dreamscape UI/UX club has taught me that the most groundbreaking ideas come not from solitary moments of inspiration but from the collective brainstorming of diverse minds. 🌈✨ Here's why diversity is the catalyst for innovation in design: 📌 Different perspectives challenge and refine ideas. 📌It encourages a culture of experimentation and risk-taking. 📌Diversity brings closer to global user experiences, making our designs universally relatable. In a world where design thinking leads, how do you embrace diversity in your creative process? #InnovationInDesign #CreativeCollaboration #DiversityInTech #GlobalDesignThinking
