Archer Aviation has achieved a significant milestone by completing over 400 test flights in 2024, surpassing its initial goal months ahead of schedule. These flights, conducted over the past eight months, have provided crucial data to refine the performance, safety, and operational capabilities of Archer’s aircraft, including its Midnight model.
The Archer flight test team has focused on key areas such as transition flights, high-rate operations, landing profiles, acoustic measurements, and optimizing control laws. These efforts are part of Archer’s preparation for Federal Aviation Administration for-credit flight testing, moving closer to commercial operations.
Adam Goldstein, CEO and Founder of Archer, praised the team’s dedication: “When we first set our goal for 400 flights this year it was viewed as aggressive, but here we are in August already knocking it out.”
This accomplishment comes on the heels of Archer’s strategic developments, including partnerships with Southwest Airlines and United Airlines, and the delivery of its first aircraft to the United States Air Force.
