Have you ever wondered how Disney managed to animate 101 lively, spotted Dalmatians on screen without losing their minds? Disney's classic film "One Hundred and One Dalmatians," released in 1961, is not only a heartwarming tale of bravery and family but also a landmark in animation history. The movie utilized a groundbreaking animation technique called Xerography, which was revolutionary for its time. This process allowed animators to transfer drawings directly onto cels using a photocopying method, preserving the details of the original artwork. This was particularly crucial for "One Hundred and One Dalmatians," considering the immense challenge of drawing and inking the multitude of spots on each dog. An interesting fact about the film is that it was one of the first Disney features to significantly reduce production costs without sacrificing quality. The Xerography technique eliminated the need for hand-inking every single frame, a painstaking and expensive process, which had a considerable impact on the studio's future productions. Bit of a simple one this week. Changing the aspect ratio! Changing the aspect ratio from a standard size (16:9) to another size. This is a somewhat subtle effect used to help draw the eye into the middle of the screen by cropping off a chunk of the top and bottom of the screen. Use this to help draw the eye into the middle of the screen. It also signifies a change in the style of the film. The Cutting-Edge Technology Behind "Love is a Championship" ❤️🏆 Noitom Studios + Reallusion iClone A few months ago, we teased some photos showing a couple of our actors in motion capture suits for "Love is a Championship." Today, I'm excited to delve deeper and show you what that truly means. What we're doing for Love is a Championship is essentially creating a short animated film on a feature film scale. It's a very ambitious project and it's the type of scale / scope that you won't see people approach for a short story. We have over 50 characters to create and animate, 26 environments to build, and a total run time that is twice as long as my previous animated film Metro6. And…we’re looking to do this all on an elevated level. So what makes me think we can do this?
