Recently, Infosys hosted an Enterprise AI World Tour event at the The Hurlingham Club. The day was filled with inspirational ideas, thought provoking topics and calls to action. There were a couple of points that particularly resonated with me: - So far AI helped improve productivity, by for example, taking away the work load to read lots of material and summarizing the main message. However, the efficiency gains are yet to be achieved. - We shouldn’t apply AI because everyone does it, but rather start with how it can support our business. - The data is abundant and we need to make better use of AI to take out junk from our emails and other means by which information is received. - There is no quick and easy way to adopt AI and companies will continue to experiment. A team of enthusiasts and sceptics could help weed out the noise and focus the mind. - ESG is an important consideration. Countries and Governments are at different levels of AI adoption, hence people may not see the benefits of AI unitarily. In the afternoon, a couple of exhibition matches were played by Mark Philippoussis, Nicolas Almagro and others. Look forward for my upcoming talk on future ready skills for a diverse workforce at The Rising Summit on Diversity & Inclusion in Tech by Analytics India Magazine on 4th & 5th April in Bengaluru. I will be covering diversity in a VUCA world where multiple paths could enable distinctive life experiences and journeys and that we need new frameworks to measure, enable and drive our people than we did in past. People no longer "marry" institutions, they just "loan" them their time as they grow with them, professionally. So, how can organizations create competitive advantage by opening up this workforce of very different value systems. With AI's exponential productivity capabilities, while the gap between demand and supply continues to weigh in on supply heavy - diversity will be the driving force to the multifunctional & fluid workplaces that we now live in and what this means for people and their role in building the institutions they care about.
