Last week, our Global Chief Marketing Officer Elizabeth Preis took the stage at the Glossy E-Commerce Summit in Miami, Florida to discuss what we think distinguishes Anthropologie in the retail industry. Through her conversation with Jill Manoff, Elizabeth emphasized our commitment to prioritizing company success over channel success, and discussed how we deliver unique in-store and online experiences with a focus always on building brand love. Thank you to everyone who attended and engaged in this inspiring discussion on shaping the future of retail.

Happy to have the stage to talk about the resilience of Douglas as a retailer, the growth & success we are seeing in the premium beauty segment and the retail media market. I got to share with the audience Retail Media's role in advertising when times are tough, when it comes to providing insights and answers to how campaigns impact sales. Thanks for the audience question on standardisation of Retail Media metrics, I was really happy to be able to explain in simple terms, with a basic example on how complex of a challenge it is. When the shopping experience is not standard across e-commerce platforms, it increases the complexity of standardising the measurements.

Here is a new #retailmedia store walkthough. There's an audio track, so turn that on if you can! It is about 7 minutes long. Maximising the retail media opportunity for retailers like Harvey Norman means designing media solutions across the trinity of in-store, on-site, and off-site. I suggest building high reach, product category, and product-level media elements in each of these channels, packaging these into media bundles, and then offering them through your trusted retail media technology partner(s). This video focuses on the in-store experience. Harvey Norman showcases excellent opportunities for brands to communicate with customers, particularly when they're standing in front of products. Whilst retailers are all different, I've seen UK supermarkets shifting towards branded shelves and I can imagine many retail categories moving in this direction. One thing this video also highlights is the intimate dance needed between trade marketing, buying, and broader retail media. They are tightly intertwined and retailers need to think about business structures and processes that align these teams towards shared goals. I hope you enjoy! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Retail Media Consultancy helps businesses to thrive in the world of #retailmedia. Retail is always changing, and private-label brands are capturing more of the spotlight. With shoppers becoming more price-conscious and selective, the appeal of private labels has never been stronger. But what does this mean for category managers and suppliers? On August 22 at 12 PM EST, I’m excited to co-host a webinar with Erika Reid. We’ll discuss four years of our fieldwork on private-label shoppers. We’ve seen some fascinating shifts in shopper behavior that could redefine how retailers and suppliers approach their strategies. We’ll discuss: - The unique mindset of today’s private label shopper: Why are they choosing private labels over national brands? - How retailers can leverage private labels to optimize their categories and meet the evolving needs of their customers. - The challenges and opportunities for national brands as they navigate a market where private labels are gaining ground. I turn your products once they’re on retail shelves. (I gave up trying to explain retail media during introductions at Expo yesterday.) You get it in the store. I’ll make sure it turns. Cool? Cool. #retailmedia #ecommerce #cpg #cpgbrands #retailgrowth #retailstrategy

As retail media networks race to improve their capabilities and win ad dollars, they must be careful to adopt best practices that fit their own business model rather than “checking the boxes” by following industry standards. Mars United’s Michele Roney explains why industry guidelines should be strongly considered but not blindly adopted as retailers focus on building media networks that reflect the unique aspects of both their business and their shoppers: https://lnkd.in/eCZbhksb #retailmedianetworks #standards #brandstrategy #ecommerce
