“The Difference is on the Surface with Microsoft Copilot” In the ever-evolving landscape of technology, two giants stand out: Microsoft and Apple. While both companies have their unique strengths, it’s on the SURFACE😉 where Microsoft truly shines, thanks to its remarkable AI companion, Microsoft Copilot. “Achieve Anything YOU Can Imagine Microsoft Copilot” isn’t just an ordinary assistant; it’s your everyday AI companion. With Copilot by your side, you can achieve feats beyond imagination. Whether you’re coding, writing, or creating, Copilot enhances your productivity and creativity. It’s like having a brilliant teammate who anticipates your needs and provides intelligent suggestions. Worlds Apart: Let’s compare Microsoft Copilot’s approach with Apple’s recent misstep. Apple’s iPad Pro advertisement, though well-intentioned, missed the mark. The ad depicted the destruction of human creativity and art, symbolized by crushed musical instruments, paint cans, and even the destruction of a human head. As the hydraulic press lifted, the new iPad Pro emerged—a powerful device, but at what cost? Apple: The internet erupted in response. Users criticized the Apple for its insensitivity toward creative tools and the fear that AI might replace human workers. Actor Hugh Grant aptly described it as “the destruction of the human experience.” Apple swiftly apologized and decided not to air the ad on TV. Microsoft: In contrast, Microsoft Copilot celebrates creativity. It empowers users, amplifying their abilities rather than diminishing them. Copilot understands context, assists with complex tasks, and adapts seamlessly to your workflow. It’s a testament to Microsoft’s commitment to innovation and user-centric design. So, when it comes to innovation and thoughtful technology, Microsoft Copilot takes the lead. Let’s appreciate the positive impact it brings to our lives, making us better drivers on the road of innovation.#Microsoft #Surface #Copilot #STS

So Microsoft released a LLM that can run on your phone, so naturally I spent the weekend reading the technical report, here are the takeaways I found: Phi-3 model family consist of 4 models, Phi-3-mini (3.8 B parameters, 4k tokens context length), Phi-3-mini-128k (128K context length using LongRope), Phi-3-small (7B parameters and 8k context length) and Phi-3-medium (14B parameters) 4-bit Quantized phi-3-mini runs natively on an iPhone with A16 Bionic chip, generating over 12 tokens per second. It only occupies ≈ 1.8GB of memory. Microsoft team defines “Data Optimal Regime” strategy which aims at keeping only data that contains logical and educational content to help the model to reason. Resulting trained models can lack knowledge of facts (which can be mitigated by adding a search engine) but make it for it with strong reasoning capabilities for their size. Almost 12 years ago😲, the 'next big thing' in personal computing was released — the Microsoft Surface "RT" model. Beating at the heart of this “RT” model was an ARM based processor unlike any seen in a Microsoft device before, the same core type running in Apple’s now-wildly-popular iPad. Sadly, what we did get was a hot, slow, incompatible device, but one that still represented the beginning of a journey, that so far has now led to the launch of Copilot. It was a long road to get here from that ill-conceived paperweight in 2012, but man, this is getting interesting. 👀 Check out 👇 our recently episode of the Solid State Podcast for our full hands-on review of the new Microsoft Surface and Dell XPS devices running Copilot Plus: https://lnkd.in/gHX7njxP #Microsoft #CopilotPlus

This is interesting. Puting a LLM on your fon is only a first step. The big questian is under hows regime the AI on your fon works. Meens, do we need a Private generative sphere supporting our live. A AI on my fon working for me and talking with other AI about generative API? I suggest a G-Sphere (Generative Sphere) in my book about AI in Architecture

Cofounder & Chief Product Officer @ Onirix | Product, Strategy, Growth, AR/XR Innovator, communicator and teacher
It is obvious that it has a high cost, that perhaps not everyone can access them yet, that there is not yet a huge catalogue of apps to do a multitude of things with them. But there is no doubt that if Apple is taking the plunge, it is because there is a market ready to consume. It is because the Spatial generation has arrived to coexist with the AI generation. And that any company that does not want to be left behind will need to start thinking in three-dimensional and spatial terms as soon as possible. At Onirix we have spent years developing our concept of Spatial AR, now taken to Spatial Web AR (whose beta you can test since the end of January, by the way! link here to request access --> https://lnkd.in/dR3qJmhV). This is because we know that the two-dimensional world, at least on the web, is evolving towards this new paradigm. Are you ready? https://lnkd.in/dEJhNdRW #spatialcomputing #spatialxr #applevisionpro #onirix

New Post: You can use Microsoft’s Copilot AI chatbot to learn how to play ‘Minecraft’ - https://lnkd.in/g2yegu3A - This one goes in the "inventing solutions to problems that don't exist" hall of fame.At Microsoft Build 2024 on Tuesday, the Windows maker went hard on artificial intelligence via its Copilot AI assistant, as expected. One of the new Copilot features allows the AI to effectively record your screen, and if the demo video was to be believed, use a voice AI to talk you through whatever you're doing. Credit: Microsoft The example given was a man booting up Minecraft on PC and having an out-loud conversation with Copilot as it taught him how to play the game. SEE ALSO: Everything announced at Microsoft Build 2024, including new Copilot and Edge features Tweet may have been deleted The AI taught him how to craft a sword and hide from enemies. To be clear, Minecraft is a video game that is played by small children. It's true that the game doesn't have an in-depth, in-game tutorial, but if you want to know how to craft a sword, you can either play the game for 10 minutes or just Google it. You absolutely do not need an AI model to record your screen for any of this. But that's the future we're looking at, I guess. It’s remarkable how many #technologies that now exist, which were accurately estimated or predicted here by #Apple in a 1987 video (eg Siri, iPad, Memory cards, multi-threaded video conferences, voice activation, #AI, digital personal assistents, etc) It’s impressive when an organization advances a detailed expectation of the industry future, and can steer toward that navigation point for over 3 decades or more. More technology companies should lay out the practical real world implications of their technology in a first-person video rather than high-minded messaging. It’s a challenge, but it should be acknowledged upon success.

A must-watch/read review to understand the quantum leap Apple just landed for AR/VR & spatial computing. “In a very real way, this is an iPad on your face.” - which brings the familiarity of iPad and access to the App Store - which will unlock 3rd party developer innovations. It’s not surprising that the killer feature is immersion in videos shot on the iPhone 15 Pro. Ironically, it’s disappointing that there isn’t yet the ability to share your experience with others - “it’s a lonely experience”…which perpetuates social media’s wall of disconnect from the real world. But I’m hopeful this will change in v.next. Eventual implications for ag? Immersion in digital twins from your chair; capability to overlay real-world historical and projected economics and what-ifs across fields of your farms. But forget about seeing this tech ON a farm anytime soon. What do you think? Walt Duflock Rob Tiffany⚡️ 📊 Dan Maycock https://lnkd.in/gSsf5aGw
