Me again... and B Corp again... Because we're proud of it :). Good governance at PRN was something we took pride in before we became a certified B Corp, but our first Impact Report has really highlighted how far we've come. In our first year as a B Corp, we've got better at purposeful decision-making, increased our accountability, and boosted employee participation. Not a bad start. The Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) is being used to informally recognise and map individuals’ skills and experiences to support more inclusive recruitment practices and better recognition of workforce potential. The SCQF Partnership’s employer engagement approaches and tools are being adopted within small, medium and large organisations, including the National Health Service (NHS) in Scotland. These tools are being used to address workforce skills gaps and improve recruitment outcomes because they provide a robust methodology to map informal skills and experience to the established qualifications framework. The SCQF Partnership’s innovative approaches to skills and experience recognition has the potential to transform the recruitment landscape in Scotland. Through the Employer Levelling Tool and the SCQF Inclusive Recruiter programme, the SCQF Partnership is enabling employers to better understand and leverage the full potential of their workforce. These initiatives not only address skills gaps but also promote more inclusive hiring practices, ensuring that individuals' informal learning and prior experiences are acknowledged and valued. As organisations like the NHS in Scotland adopt these tools, the impact on recruitment outcomes and workforce development will become increasingly evident, paving the way for a more equitable and skilled labour market. This presentation will provide an insight into the SCQF Partnership’s approach to unlocking the potential of recognition in the workplace and how we articulate informal recognition and learn to recognise, with the ultimate goal of making recognition accessible for all.
