To inspire action and hope for our climate, we've engaged hundreds of artists from around the world. In 2023, TED Countdown and Fine Acts joined forces to kick off a new series of SPRINTS. The goal: empower artists to envision what a better climate future looks like. SPRINTS is an original format, developed by Fine Acts – a creative bootcamp where visual artists are briefed on a topic by experts, and then have 48 hours to produce digital artworks on that specific issue. All visuals are published under an open license. This means activists, nonprofits, movements and educators globally can use and adapt them in their work towards climate action. ❤️🌎 ArtistsForClimate.org 🌎❤️ Over the past 6 months, for the second edition of our collaboration, we joined forces with 13 selected TEDx events (bringing the total number of collabs so far to 22, in 20 cities). We once again supported the amazing TEDx teams to select awesome local visual artists, organize effective creative bootcamps and produce inspiring public exhibitions, ultimately curating a host of brilliant illustration collections. As a result, 158 new artworks joined our Artists for Climate vault with open-licensed visuals on climate change. Selected works were also featured on Fine Acts’ global platform for free socially-engaged art – TheGreats.co, where they joined The Climate Collection, an invaluable public resource with a distinct focus on hope and solutions. But there’s so much more! The SPRINTS bootcamps created a deep sense of community, belonging and purpose amongst the artists. The dozens of pop-up exhibitions around the world further deepened understanding and ignited conversations and direct action on climate. On the occasion of April 21, the International Day of Creativity and Innovation: This year, we are celebrating the International Day of Creativity and Innovation, as humanity needs innovation and creativity more than ever. We need to make our home, the earth, a better place to live. We need to develop better ways to live together as human beings before being anything else! Before and more than thinking about better and more use of the resources and reserves on the planet, we need a better way to use them together so that we don't fight each other for the sake of using more. We need to know each other better and live better together. Accept diversity in human society and love everyone as they are. Each of us needs this year to be better people than the previous year and to promote love, kindness and hope among human society instead of hatred and enmity. We need to find an innovative way so that no one on our rich planet spends the night hungry! We have to be creative so that no one is attacked by powerful people because of their thoughts! We have to think creatively about the loneliness of the sparrows behind the window and the withering of the flowers in the vases of our father's house! The future of humanity awaits our creativity. If you are not living an authentic life, especially at work, you aren’t doing your greatest work! You will fade into the distance, especially with the onset of artificial intelligence! I know that I have been put on this earth to help people understand the power of their AUTHENTIC intelligence! My message to you: It’s critical thar you realize just how wonderfully made you are. You are a creator! You have the ability to do things that no one else can do simply because of your individual and creative mind. The best place to start in realizing this within you is to love and appreciate your authentic story. You must own where you come from, see how the patterns of your upbringing has brought you here today, forgive and surrender the parts that have hurt you, and expand upon the areas that bring you excitement and joy! Then it’s also pretty cool that yourealize that the same patterns, habits, and ways of thinking, and believing that got you here today, can just get you so far into the future. It requires you to see things differently, to create new habits, new patterns, new ways of thinking new ways of believing. When you do this, you are able to BLAST off into the life and work that you always imagined! Make sense? That’s what I love sharing with my clients. I know because my clients share their reults. Hello Community, First and foremost, thank you for being here and for being part of this journey with us! The work within hashtag #TheKaleidoscopeEffect is challenging and cumbersome and has been no easy task to commit to. I hope that the journey so far has unlocked facets of your lens you never knew you could and what's more, we have more unlocking to do so hang in there with us. Also know that when this work is translated into a book, you will have been part of its crafting and validation, so share your experiences with us and this community. Apologies that it has been a hot minute since our last article was released. Truth be told, I have been challenged more than ever to put these learnings and approaches into practice amidst a very trying time in my life and I have been struggling to put my lived experiences down into words and more so, to share these experiences with the world. But as I've said before, Self-Awareness is the key forward and boldly sharing ones full and authentic self and lived experiences is how we step through the doorway and onward to a better sense of self and awareness of the lived experiences of others. Our next article is titled, "The Kaleidoscope Effect: Adjusting Focus," and disclaimer, there will be some tough and sensitive dialogue. My hope is that we all embrace this discomfort as a sign of growth and that we lean deeply into the experiences shared and try to find the intersection between all of our lived experiences and build new facets into our Lens of Perspective.
