🌍 Today, on #World Environmental Education Day, we celebrate a crucial initiative that has been shaping global consciousness since 1975. This day serves as a reminder of our collective responsibility to address environmental challenges, both on a global and local scale. 📆 Recognized every 26 January, the International #Environmental #Education Day originated from the 1975 International #Workshop on Environmental Education in #Belgrade. Gathering experts from over 70 countries, this landmark event laid the foundation for environmental education principles within the United Nations framework. 🌐 The result was the Belgrade Charter, a pivotal document outlining the core objectives of environmental education. These #goals aspire to cultivate a global population that is not only aware of environmental issues but is also equipped with the #knowledge, skills, attitudes, motivations, and commitment needed to collaboratively tackle existing problems and #prevent new ones. 💚 Let us use this occasion to reflect on the significance of environmental education and renew our dedication to fostering a #sustainable future. Together, we can make a positive impact on our #planet and contribute to mitigating the effects of climate change. Happy World Environmental Education Day! 🌱 🌊 #EnvironmentalEducation #Sustainability #ClimateAction #ClimateChange #Aquit

Today is the International Day of Environmental Education 🌎, a day to raise awareness and promote action for the protection of our planet. Environmental education is not only about learning facts and figures, but also about developing values, attitudes, and skills that enable us to live in harmony with nature and each other. 🙌 Environmental education is essential for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 🌱, which aim to end poverty, reduce inequality, and ensure peace and prosperity for all by 2030. By educating ourselves and others about the environmental challenges we face and the solutions we can implement, we can become agents of change and make a positive difference in the world. 💚 Some benefits of environmental education are: ✅ It fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills 💡 ✅ It enhances creativity and innovation 🎨 ✅ It increases environmental awareness and literacy 📚 ✅ It encourages civic engagement and participation 🗳️ ✅ It improves health and well-being 🌿 How can you celebrate the International Day of Environmental Education? Here are some ideas: ✔ Join an online event or webinar on environmental topics 🖥️ ✔ Read a book or watch a documentary about the environment 📖 ✔ Take a walk or bike ride in nature and appreciate its beauty 🚲 ✔ Plant a tree or start a garden 🌳 ✔ Reduce, reuse, and recycle your waste ♻️ ✔ Support an environmental organization or cause 💸 ✔ Share your environmental knowledge and passion with others 🗣️ Let’s make every day a day of environmental education and action! Together, we can create a more sustainable and resilient future for ourselves and generations to come. 🌍 My family and I are starting a garden in the house where we moved a year ago. We are healing a beautiful lemon tree (it's the one in the photo I'm sharing with you), and we are going to develop a waste utilization system to feed said garden. 💚 What actions are you doing or planning to do to help the environment ❓ Share in the comments. 💬 #environment #sdgs #actnow #fornature #environmentalsustainability #futuregenerations #conservation

This Friday, we celebrate the 50th International Environmental Education Day; a day meant to raise awareness about the global and local environmental challenges, and the actions we are all taking to support effective change, education, and our communities. Along the Gulf Coast, we face unique challenges such as land subsidence, wetland loss, and habitat loss - each of these being impacted by the global challenge of climate change. A few of the methods being utilized to mitigate these issues include sediment diversion projects and beneficial use of dredged material for marsh creation and shoreline protection. Every day, people are working to discover new, innovative solutions to environmental challenges, but the first step is understanding the challenge. This is why International Environmental Education Day is such an important reminder of not only what we have to lose, but also of what we have to gain by spreading environmental awareness, conservation, and effective community involvement. “...the most fun lies in seeing and studying the unknown.” – Aldo Leopold, philosopher and conservationist #tbakersmith #oneTBS #cultivatingpeople #environmentaleducation #education #environmentalscience #environmentalconsulting #marinescience #team

Hello connections "I am Happy to share my Article with you" my Topic is "Environmental education" Environmental education as an approach to address global change Environmental education represents “an approach, a philosophy, a tool, and a profession” (Monroe, Andrews, & Biedenweg, 2008, p. 205), with the aim of creating an environmentally literate citizenry well-suited to address environment and resource sustainability issues (UNESCO, 1978; Wheaton, Kannan, & Ardoin, 2018a). Through developing attitudes, values, knowledge, dispositions, and skills to undertake pro-environmental actions, environmental education fosters engagement in enhancing the sustainability of human-nature interactions over time (Mastrángelo et al., 2019; Monroe, 2003; UNESCO, 1978). Environmental education is relevant throughout the life course, from infancy through senior citizenship, in formal and nonformal venues (Leal Filho, Mifsud, & Pace, 2018; UNESCO, 1978). Lifelong engagement is particularly important as the scientific and social conditions around environmental and sustainability issues shift, requiring continued critical thinking, engagement, and decisionmaking not only as individuals, but also within communal settings. #snsinstutions #snsdesignthinkers #snsdesignthinking

Today, January 26, we celebrate International Environmental Education Day. It is observed all over the World in the hopes of improving the relationship between our fellow humans and nature itself. It seeks to identify and find solutions to certain environmental issues, both globally and locally. With this, a collective and effective process is made available to reach more like-minded people who want to make a difference for our World itself. Aside from just assessing these issues, the main goal for this day is to bring about awareness for the motivation to continue this endeavor. Once this has been achieved, motivation to act with the right forward-thinking and knowledge can bring about a sustainable change for today and future generations as well, for the betterment of the environment and our future.

20 DAYS ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVISM DAY 19: ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION Environmental education is a vital tool in our quest for sustainability, raising awareness and empowering individuals to protect our planet. It covers topics like ecology, conservation, sustainable practices, and climate science, fostering an understanding of our interconnectedness with nature. This knowledge inspires responsible behaviors and informed decision-making that contribute to environmental sustainability. The impact of environmental education is far-reaching. It enables individuals to make informed choices, drives behavioral change, and engages communities in collective action. Educated citizens are more likely to support and demand policies promoting sustainability and environmental justice. Furthermore, it empowers youth, preparing them to tackle future environmental challenges and become leaders in advocating for a greener world. Effective strategies for environmental education include integrating it into school curricula, providing hands-on learning experiences, and organizing community workshops. Utilizing technology and media can spread awareness quickly, while collaborations with environmental organizations can enhance educational programs. These approaches ensure that individuals connect theory with practice, making the learning experience more impactful. By prioritizing education, we can cultivate a culture of sustainability and drive systemic changes needed to protect our planet. #20daysenvironmentalactivism #rabealinitiative #odcc

Happy International Environmental Education Day! If we want to create a more sustainable future, environmental education is key. It can empower individuals to understand, appreciate, and actively contribute to the well-being of our environment. It's so important that we make environmental education a priority for future generations. When children get the opportunity to really connect with nature, it can teach them that nature is valuable and worth protecting. It's not only valuable because it provides us with resources... it has intrinsic value that makes it worth preserving. #InternationalEnvironmentalEducationDay #Sustainability #EnvironmentalEducation

International Environmental Education Day, which has been celebrated since 1972. That year, the first ever United Nations Workshop on Environmental Education took place. This event established the principles of environmental education within the framework of United Nations programmes. Time is changing and so are the requirements from customers, employees and other stakeholders. It is not sufficient any longer to act sustainable but we also have to communicate, train and inform our employees about what has been done and what is planned for the future. This day should remind us all, to act with the right forward-thinking and together with shared knowledge, it can bring a sustainable change for todays and future generations as well. #teufelberger #sustainability #actresponsibly #educate #training #knowledgesharing
