ArcelorMittal Brasil has signed contracts for the development of two solar energy projects with a combined capacity of 465MW, equivalent to 14 per cent of its current electricity requirements. These projects include further developing the existing relationship with Casa dos Ventos Energias Renováveis, one of Brazil’s largest developers and producers of renewable energy projects, and a new partnership with Atlas Renewable Energy, the second largest independent renewable energy developer in #LatinAmerica. Would there be more biodiversity here? Would the temperature be lower here? What happens to those solar panels after they are worn out after 20 some years? How will they clean up the toxic substances in the soil after 20 years of eroding solar panels? Where does the food come from that could have been produced here? Is that food being transported with: 100% climate-neutral sailing ships? Regular ships with refrigeration? Airplanes?
