Impact of AUM on #FOF Business for Asset Managers   In a panel discussion titled Securities Asset Management's Push into the FoF Market hosted by FinFo Global & 财视中国, participants included Han Wenyang, GM Assistant at Quant Investment, Li Wen, Founder of Private Banking at China Minsheng Bank, Wang Yuewen, General Manager of Mutual Fund Investment Dept. at Galaxy Jinhui Securities Asset Management; Wan Ying, General Manager of Asset Management Dept. at Cinda Securities, and Li Wenqing, Deputy General Manager of Asset Management Dept. at HuaRong RongDa Futures.   The guests discussed the advantages and disadvantages of the size of asset management institutions and the differences between international and domestic managers. Wan Ying mentioned that the success of investments does not necessarily depend on the size of the institution but is primarily influenced by the investment capabilities of the team. Li Wenqing also emphasized that cooperation and competition between different institutions are long-term phenomena, especially in the vast market space of wealth management and FOF. Cooperation is expected to become a consensus in the future. Private Equity / Private Credit Investing For those who follow the Private Credit / Private Equity space, I'd like to share an article from Steven Starr in the Private Equity, Hedge Fund and Alternative Investment discussion group. It is quite interesting to see that Japanese investors are considering whether to make equity commitments to private credit funds that in turn provide NAV credit facilities to private equity funds. The success of those private credit funds in attracting investors in the Japanese market is directly impacted by how the proceeds of their NAV lending is being used by the private equity borrowers – whether reinvested in the portfolio or used to fund distributions to investors.  The diagram below provides a more detailed illustration of how this structure works:

Nordea’s European equity products saw renewed interest in Q2, whilst its hedge funds experienced outflows, says Snorre Storset, head of Nordea Asset & Wealth Management. Nordea’s Q2 report, published yesterday, revealed that the company experienced positive net flows for the first time since last summer.
