Xanadu Mines Ltd is featured in the inaugural ‘Mongolia Mining 2024’ publication, which includes a spotlight on #copper #gold opportunities in Mongolia. Furthermore, the report highlights that the #investment climate stars are starting to align again; a more pro-mining government elected in 2020 has worked to deliver a new #mining code by this year. During extensive interview with Global Business Reports (GBR), our Executive Chair and Managing Director, Colin Moorhead succinctly sums up the #XAM investment case: ‘We are a great investment proposition; we have a large copper mine that we are shaping into the best it can be. Furthermore, unlike other juniors, our project funding has been secured. Our strategic partnership with Zijin provides funding certainty through to commercial production. Also, the project has no fatal flaws or ESG barriers. It can deliver production rather quickly; first concentrate production expected 4Q 2027. It is strongly positioned to become Mongolia’s next large-scale copper mine, plus amongst only a handful of new global mines delivering copper within the next four years.' Thank you to the GBR team for compiling a comprehensive publication, highlighting the rich investment opportunities of #Mongolia: LORENA POSTELNICU STANCU, Aya T., MA and Felicia Coulter. Exciting insights were shared at #PDAC2024 during the panel discussion 'Highlighting the Opportunities of Working Together: Government, First Nations, and Industry,' moderated by Michael Goehring, President and CEO of the Mining Association of BC When probed about opportunities collaboration can provide to BC’s mineral and exploration sector, the panellist had valuable perspectives: Tania Demchuk, Assistant Deputy Minister of BC Ministry of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation, stressed the importance of continuing to strengthen relationships with the mining sector and First Nations, and leveraging these relationships to make well-informed jurisdictional changes. She also underscored the urgency to work together on transforming the legislation and expediting permits for projects vital for the global energy transition. Paul Blom, First Nations Energy and Mining Council highlighted the importance of leveraging goodwill built over the years and fostering closer ties with the BC Government, Association for Mineral Exploration and Mining Association of BC. Keerit Jutla, President and CEO of AME - Association for Mineral Exploration encouraged a paradigm shift in the discussion – from one that evokes fear to opportunity, justice, and certainty. Additionally, he highlighted the opportunity to become a global benchmark of effective industry-government-Indigenous collaboration and building a system that works. As the world transitions to a net-zero future, the demand for critical minerals is soaring. These minerals are essential for clean energy technologies, electric vehicles, batteries, and other low-carbon innovations. But where will they come from? And who will supply them in a responsible and sustainable way? I believe that Canada and British Columbia has the answer. Our province is home to several critical minerals mines that could generate enormous economic and environmental benefits for Canada and the world. These projects are backed by a mining industry that has been a leader in environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices for decades. Canada has the technical expertise, the community support, and the government policies to make these projects a reality. We need to step out and show the world what we can offer. That's why I'm inviting you to join me and our team of experts Monica Banting, Mark Patterson, Sarah Marsh, Brooke Ko, CPA, CA and the whole mining team at PwC Canada, in a conversation about the BC mining industry and its role in the global critical minerals market. Let's talk about the opportunities and the obstacles, the solutions and the strategies, the vision and the values that will shape our industry for the future, so I invite you to read our BC Mine 2023 report and share with us your impressions, your comments and your ideas. Look forward hearing from your and working together to continue developing the best Mining Industry for Canada and for the world! #MininginCanada #PwCProud #Mining #ESG https://lnkd.in/gEcPYX_b

CIM Magazine's CIM Connect event, held in May, featured lively discussion of the current challenges and successes of the Canadian minerals industry. The highlights include: ◾ The need for sped up processes for new mine permits as we try to address the energy transition. ◾ While some areas require speed, others must take their due time, especially when it comes to Indigenous engagement. ◾ Minerals companies are committing a great deal time and resources towards land reclamation and biodiversity, often working closely with Indigenous communities to make it happen. ◾ While the minerals industry is consistently investing in positive changes and innovations, public perception is still lacking in confidence. We must continue to share the exciting progress being made. Michael Goehring says strategy is going to determine whether B.C. is able to be a “leading global supplier of responsibly produced critical minerals or not" and is calling for shorter permitting times. Each of 16 local mines would generate $24.8 billion during their respective 24-year average life span. We working with mining companies: https://lnkd.in/gbc9rJ-2. Critical minerals such as #copper and #nickel are needed for green technologies like batteries for zero-emission vehicles, solar panels and wind turbines. The federal government considers 31 minerals to be critical with 16 and found or produced in British Columbia. #mines #mine #mining #exploration #prospecting #ev #battery #business #resources #ores #minerals #growth Trade & Invest British Columbia Business Council of British Columbia Mining Association of BC Mining Association of Canada BC Regional Mining Alliance Greater Vancouver Board of Trade Greater Vancouver Chamber North Vancouver Chamber City of Vancouver City of Victoria BC BIV News CIM | Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) AME - Association for Mineral Exploration Government of British Columbia

Recent commitments by various countries and corporations to reach net-zero emissions have prompted increased reliance on critical minerals. The limited supply of these minerals, combined with growing geopolitical tensions, have led to the development of initiatives and policies designed to assert certain levels of control over mineral exploration and development activities within the borders various states. In a recent Canadian Mining Journal article, Robin Longe, José Ignacio Morán, María Paula Morelli and Michael R. RATTAGAN delve into the rise of resource nationalism in Canada and Latin America. This CBC article summarizes why critical minerals have the potential to be a major economic driver for B.C. “The study found the proposed mines — ranging from a copper/gold operation in northern Vancouver Island to a niobium mine in northeastern B.C. and a nickel mine in the northwest — would generate a combined $183.8 billion in labour income over their lifespans and generate more than $154 billion in tax revenue for all levels of government." #bcpoli #cdnpoli #mining #criticalminerals https://lnkd.in/gw4EyfSC

via Bulls N' Bears with Matt Birney Xanadu Mines Ltd boss Colin Moorhead says funding security from the company’s strategic partnership with Chinese giant Zijin Mining fosters a strong #investment case for #production at its Kharmagtai copper gold project in Mongolia. Moorhead said the project had no “fatal flaws” or environmental, social and governance (#ESG) barriers. He believed it had the ability to escalate quickly towards commercialism, with first concentrate production expected by the fourth financial quarter of 2027. In what would prove a significant boost for Xanadu’s #copper aspirations, Moorehead believes demand for the resource will increase as the world progresses towards #decarbonisation, while Kharmagtai’s #gold credits act as a significant sweetener for prospective smelters.
