This week, the ARM Institute's Robotics Manufacturing Hub team welcomed Pittsburgh manufacturer Robinson Fans to our facility to explore solutions for robotic multi-pass welding for structural components and to help their team get hands-on with robotics! By the end of the no-cost meeting, Robinson Fans left with: ➡ A sample robotically welded part, programmed by Robinson Fans staff as taught by the ARM Institute team, to take home for x-ray inspection so that the team can continue to perfect the process before Robinson Fans commits to purchasing a robot arm ➡ Hands-on familiarization with industrial robots, collaborative robots, and Motosim simulation software ➡ An understanding of the differences between industrial and collaborative robots and how those differences can play to their strengths and weaknesses ➡ Knowledge of the process it takes to apply robotic automation to their welded parts ➡ Knowledge of the market landscape for robotic welding and capabilities This could be you! The Robotics Manufacturing Hub is a free service for small and medium sized manufacturers in the Pittsburgh region and is funded by through the Southwestern Pennsylvania New Economy Collaborative, the region's Build Back Better Regional Challenge grant.
