May the Fourth … and explosive forces … Be With You! At the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), you could say we are strong in the force. ERDC is among the world leaders in understanding how the force, in this case explosive forces, like blasts and the resulting shockwaves, impact structures. This has put ERDC at the forefront of developing new techniques and technologies to increase the survivability of those structures and those inside. ERDC has fielded innovative overhead systems and modular protective systems for our troops and assets in contested environments, and deployed hardware that can better protect critical infrastructure from terrorist threats. This unique understanding of blast effects is just one of the core competencies from which ERDC’s research is built. Those competencies, which includes civil and military engineering, battlespace terrain mapping and characterization, cold regions science and engineering, and more, have been born and nurtured over nearly 100 years. This experience, combined with state-of-the-art facilities and our diverse and talented workforce – the most powerful force of all – gives ERDC the ability to discover, develop and deliver the engineering solutions for our nation and for any galaxy far, far away. #starwars #starwarsday #theforce #blasts #shockwaves #impact #survivability #hardenedstructures #soldiers #protection #civilengineering #military #engineer #engineering #science #innovation #technology #research #researchanddevelopment #PowerofERDC
Appreciate the engineering service as always Jenny Laird. And a shout out for the drone assessments your team does in natural disaster response.
Great job.
