Earlier in October, cell-based dairy startup BIOMILQ and molecular farming startup Tiamat Sciences Corp. announced a collaboration to develop human prolactin, a key protein to support the growth and productivity of Biomilq’s human mammary epithelial cell system. The first time a cellular agriculture dairy player announced a partnership with a growth factor and protein production partner, the collaboration highlighted that cell-based dairy startups face similar scaling challenges as cell-based meat startups.
