[🎬 Replay of the discussion with Brune Poirson, Chief Sustainability Officer & Executive Committee Member at Accor, at the Adopt AI #Summit by Artefact] on how to combine the use of AI and environmental transition. Questions by Lucie Marchais, Project Director at Artefact 3000. 👉 Watch and get inspired by Brune Poirson on the Society stage: https://lnkd.in/e8Xup75z 📖 Read the REPORT of Adopt AI with the replays & synthesis of all keynotes & key discussion panels: https://lnkd.in/e8yj2CeN 💼 Brune Poirson, former Secretary of State for Ecological and Environmental Transition (2017-2020), is now the Chief Sustainability Officer at Accor. Poirson’s current mission is to guide Accor, a global hospitality company, toward a #sustainablemodel amidst accelerating climate change and social inequalities. Key insights from the discussion between Brune Poirson and Lucie Marchais: 🔹 For #sustainability, Accor must rethink its business model. As a leading #hospitalitycompany, it opens one hotel per day. The key challenge is shifting from a quantity-based to a quality-based model, transforming hotels into “third spaces” for work, meetings, and activities to optimize underutilized spaces. 🔹 Accor's sustainable operations focus on three areas: #waterconservation by replacing bathtubs with showers, shifting to less meat-based menus to #reducecarbon and water footprints, and promoting bicycles and trains over aviation through partnerships like the one with SNCF. 🔹 AI helps manage large environmental datasets, improve weather predictions, and enhance decision-making. It can forecast climate impacts, aiding industries in planning and adaptation, such as determining where and what type of housing to build. 🔹 For #foodwaste reduction, #AItools like connected scales help kitchens track and reduce waste by identifying patterns and improving menu planning. Predictive tools like “Full Soon” forecast guest numbers and preferences, enhancing efficiency and reducing waste. 🔹 AI enhances personalized guest experiences through advanced #chatbots, tailoring services like room temperature settings. It also frees hotel staff from repetitive tasks, allowing them to focus on #guestinteraction. Accor uses AI to accelerate employee training and development, empowering staff and providing career growth opportunities. 🗣 “Increasingly, we need to move away from mitigation but really to adaptation, and that's where adaptation is a real challenge and that's where AI can really help,” says Brune Poirson. 👉 Watch all the replays of the Adopt AI Summit: https://lnkd.in/eDxHcR47
