Congratulations to our LA Office for volunteering to assist the LA @DowntownWomen'sCenter and assembling over sixty toiletry kits! These kits, including notes of inspiration handwritten by our team, will be given out as people use the Center's showers. The Downtown Women's Center is a powerful resource for the community and the only organization in Los Angeles focused exclusively on serving and empowering women and gender diverse individuals experiencing homelessness. #Proudtogiveback

Our SEP 2024 program is a wrap! Six different teams of interns presented their case studies to our Investment Committee, explaining their theses and facing pointed questions from our experts so they understand what the IC experience entails. They nailed it!  Afterwards, we toasted their hard work together before parting. We can’t wait to watch this talented cohort grow and advance in the industry!

A big part of SEP was introducing interns not only to all the facets of real estate projects and to every member of the Artemis community, but to as many different firms in the field as we could. This summer we brought interns to the Navy Yard to meet with Brookfield Properties and Union Market to meet with the EDENS team, among others. All the while, interns were working to prepare their case studies in advance of their final presentations to the Investment Committee.

Our jam-packed SEP experience continued, with our interns getting a wide range of learning opportunities. Recent days included interview prep with Blackstone, property tours at the Wharf, and meetings with on-site property teams. The interns were full of fantastic questions as they learned about real estate projects from every angle.

No Artemis experience would be complete without giving SEP interns an opportunity to give back to the community, something that we are diligent about here at Artemis. We introduced the SEP interns to our healthcare team and visited Arbor Terrace Prince William Commons and Horton's Kids. Everyone had a blast assembling hygiene kits and getting to know each other along the way.

More SEP Updates! From financial modeling boot camp to early morning outings with the Artemis Running Club (thanks John Jacobsen, Jordan Abner, and Jamie Smith!) to getting to meet with both Artemis co-CEO Alex Gilbert and Deb Harmon, SEP interns get the full sense of what it's like not just to work in this industry, but to be a part of the Artemis community.

One of the ways we get to know our SEP team this summer and teach them about our business is by taking them on property tours. This year - umbrellas in tow - we visited Marriott Marquis (where the kind resident manager took a selfie with us), Residence Inn, and Courtyard Columbia Place. Artemis team members were on hand to walk the SEP team through the projects, answer their questions, and discuss the investments. It's a fast-paced introduction to the real estate industry and a great way to meet the next generation of leaders. #mentorship

Summer is one of our favorite times of year here at Artemis, because we get to welcome our Summer Enrichment Program (SEP) participants, learn from their experiences, and teach them all about the real estate industry. It's a whirlwind few weeks of meetings, classes, projects, and hard work, and we wouldn't have it any other way. Welcome to DC to our 2024 SEP team! #mentorship
