Jud et al investigate the impact of hip adduction and abduction on the femoro-epiphyseal acetabular roof (FEAR) index using conventional anteroposterior pelvic radiographs of patients with borderline hip dysplasia (BHD). Authors found that significant differences in FEAR index measurements depending on hip ad-/abduction on pelvic radiographs, with a linear change of the FEAR index of 5° per 5° of hip adduction or abduction #hipdysplasia #hip

Another case of pubalgia on US. When the condition is centered in the midline, some refer to these injuries as a midline rectus abdominis-adductor longus pubic plate tear. Where the injury appears to be centered/starts at the midline and extends to the sides with involvement of the common aponeurosis, usually bilaterally asymmetric, more extensive on one side. This is a classic example, with a defect of the tenoperiosteal interface of the common aponeurosis RA/AL communicating on both sides crossing the midline, more extensive on the right. If you want to avoid confusion with terminology, the description is the most important thing. #mskrad

Great NMRE (97112) course last night. If you keep the 5 key areas of treatment in mind, you’ll automatically document better: 1) balance 2) coordination 3) proprioception 4) kinesthesia 5) posture (CPT codes are the property of the AMA)

One of the major concerns in children with Cerebral Palsy (CP) is the management of abnormal muscle tone. The imbalances between agonist and antagonist muscles make walking challenging for these children, leading to various pathologic gait abnormalities. Ankle-Foot Orthosis (AFO) is designed to compensate for plantar flexor dysfunction, increase foot clearance in the swing phase, and improve mobility and gait patterns during both the swing and stance phases for these children. #cerebralpalsy #AFO

A necessary component for the more effective functioning and performance of my female athletes is the improvement, I can say perfecting, of proprioception. The protocol I have chosen over the years for perfecting neuromuscular coordination has proven to be highly successful. Below is a very small excerpt of the work that is done on a daily basis. I usually prefer to work on neuromuscular coordination after weight training Part two follows....

Hip orthoses in older adults are commonly prescribed following total hip arthroplasty. These orthoses limit excessive hip motion in both the sagittal and coronal planes, stabilizing the affected area and reducing the risk of hip dislocation. The orthotic joint, which controls hip flexion and abduction, is adjustable and can accommodate the improved range of motion (ROM) as the patient progresses. This aids in the rehabilitation process and protects the hip joint from excessive stress during the healing process. #Hip #Arthroplasty #Hip_orthosis

50% of outcome success is due to the surgeon. Rest of 50% is due to the patient’s commitment. I couldn’t agree more with the importance of pre-hab before joint replacement surgery. Dr. Vonda Wright puts it perfectly: "50% of outcome success is due to the surgeon, and the other 50% is due to the patient’s commitment." Pre-hab is the foundation for that commitment.
