SOLIDARITY FOR ANNA 1. The Malays showing kindness support and love by fighting back the narrative of Pia's side. 2. The Chinese and Indians showing resistance towards Pia's side. 3. The Malays, Chinese and Indians had rised for Anna and telling Anna the truth about the undergoing oppression towards Anna. Whatever Pia's side do now including using annoucement at train station, malls, commanded government servants to conduct smear campaign towards Anna, all shops, including the several women in Anna's current house rental,everybody and the whole world know subhired here and there hence we Anna's side wanted to say "So what Pia want to do now everybody know already what Pia do to Anna?" 4. I see a disturbing lack of content on the Hikoi mō Te Tiriti today. Surely some amount of politics is relevant to our modern society…if people are afraid to speak out then we need to strengthen our #resistance or we will be overridden by fear, isolation, and the subsequent dismantling of a free #democracy. It’s hard to understand the rhetoric sometimes so I will do my best to give you my point of view as an expat American and environmentally-focused venturist who left California and happily calls New Zealand home for the past 15 years. ACT’s Treaty Principles bill is being proposed by far right guy David Seymour and enabled by the National coalition government, as a stunted attempt to undermine Māori rights. This bill seeks to amend New Zealand’s founding document (a constitution) to write out Māori, which is fanning the flames of the systemic inequalities already felt across the country. This negative and aggressive rhetoric and divisive maneuvering is a way for these guys to claim more attention to their minority and gain followers and power, and is reminiscent of bad politics overseas. Let’s be clear that the same forces that allowed Trump back into the White House are here in #Aotearoa. The UN Human Rights Council has criticized China's human rights abuses against Tibetans, Uyghurs, and others during China's 4th Universal Periodic Review, which concluded on Thursday. Despite China's lobbying efforts, 21 states highlighted Tibet's situation, the highest number since 2009. The UK and US condemned China's actions, urging an end to persecution. ICT's Melanie Blondelle, on behalf of the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, emphasized Tibet's dire conditions and called for unrestricted access to the region. I discuss the scope, methodology and the major findings from our phenemenological study of lived experiences of #caste oppresed communities in #Australia. Humbled by the turnout of over 100 participants for the session engaging deeply on the issues of white supremacy and #racism, place of caste in intersectional racial discrimination and racism within the multi-cultural migrant communities. 🚨 #WhatsHappeninginCambodia Hay Vannith, Brother of Cambodian Activist, Arbitrarily Arrested and is in Detention 🚨 🗣️On  the 16th of August Fulbright Recipient Scholar and Civil Servant of the Cambodian Ministry of Health was arrested due to claims of him being a political activist. This is because he is the brother of Hay Vanna, the Leader of Cambodia National Rescue Movement in Japan, and Board Member of the Khmer Movement for Democracy. Hay Vanna, alongside his parents, resides in Japan as he possesses Japanese citizen ⚠️Whilst Hay Vannit is not involved in the actions of his brother, he has constantly faced harassment and threats and was planning to flee to Thailand. However, he was arrested and detained on the Poi Pet border (Cambodian side). As of today, the Cambodian authorities have not announced/confirmed his detention. Thus, he has disappeared and his arrest and detention remain arbitrary. 🚩Hay Vanna announced on his Facebook page about Hay Vannit’s disappearance and how he may be arbitrarily arrested and detained. Hay Vanna called for the release of his brother, urging that he is not an activist and should not be arrested under such charges. For years, Indonesian people have been propagandized about the 30 September Movement on 30 September-1 October, 1965 (which killed six generals) which is always said to be carried out by the Communist Party of Indonesia. As the result of that accusation, the Indonesian government through its army, carried out mass killings targeting members and sympathizers or, let's say, alleged sympathizers of the party which resulted in the deaths of 500,000 to 1,000,000 people. I'm not a communist but what the Indonesian government did at that time was a crime against humanity, the history of it has mostly been erased or skipped. A black stain in the history of the Republic of Indonesia, very bad. I don't want to go into too much detail about this since I'm still an Indonesian citizen, I also generally don't really like talking about the government of the Republic of Indonesia, it's not comfortable for me. On the 20th of April this year we came together for our second Decolonial Reparations Conference. With over 30 people we discussed the different chapters of of our manifesto, to share knowledge and give feedback on the draft. The whole conference is now available online: https://lnkd.in/emMjacDZ The Decolonial Manifesto for reparations is an outcome of the conference we organized for the second time; in the spirit of the first Bandung Conference, which took place from April 18-24 1955 in Bandung, Indonesia. It was the first conference that united formerly colonized countries from Africa and Asia to develop a strategy and vision for a new decolonial world civilization. We hope that with this we can normalize the conversation about reparations and provide concrete tools to the social movement for interventions for justice. #decolonial #conference #reperations #justice #manifest
