Thrilled to share article from La Vanguardia detailing a recent trip to Shenzhen by a small group of forward-thinking Catalan businessmen and businesswomen. This journey, aimed at fostering innovation and exploring new business opportunities, has been a significant step towards strengthening ties between Catalonia and China. What makes this article particularly special for us is the participation of our Managing Partner, Josep Ll. Sanfeliu. His presence in this delegation underscores our commitment to global collaboration and staying at the forefront of technological and business advancements. The article reflects the impressive development of China in the areas of health technology, innovation both in medtech and in biotech. The visit to the country and to Shenzhen perfectly exemplifies where the future of healthcare is going and Asabys Partners is trying to capture those technologies in its investment activity since it's just a window to the future of healthcare. China still represents an opportunity but also faces many challenges ahead in managing its own healthcare needs and social coverage for its population. In summary, healthcare innovation, technology and the need to invest in that space is key for the future of society.

It was a great pleasure to join the 8th Swiss Chinese Life Sciences Forum as a panelist in Basel on May 14th to exchange and share my views on cross-border investment opportunities and market access challenges in healthcare sector with other distinguished panelists ZHANG Xi ,Bruno Delie ,Lin Jin , and Jiansong Yang! 🤝 Also, a huge thank you to all the organizers and sponsors Beilun Wei 魏北伦, Anke Hollnagel ,Gabriel Schweizer ,Christian Wyss , Morgane Husser , Superlab Suisse ,Tigermed and many more for putting together such a wonderful event!👏 Please find below a summary of my key points on the topic💡” Support overseas medtech startups to enter the Chinese market” for those who might be interested. * Incorporate China into your IP territory as early as possible. * Try to enter the Chinese market as soon as you can and find a strong and trustworthy local partner there. Don’t wait until your products get US/European regulatory approval. It might be too late as you may be facing fierce competition from domestic players at that time. * Establish/increase local production for the Chinese market to compete at a low price for products that have already entered the gov’s centralized procurement catalog. * Strive to bring more innovative products into the Chinese market. Therefore, the centralized procurement policy will not affect you as there are no other suppliers in the market. * Politics might have borders, but healthcare doesn’t. Our common goal is to help improve people’s health and save more lives 🙏 Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) ,Basel Area Business & Innovation , VISCHER Invest in Switzerland ,Swiss Business Hub China, Intercontinental Capital ,Mountain Labs #innovation #lifesciences #healthcare #cooperation #SinoSwissCollaboration #china #switzerland #crossborder #basel

Business Sweden in collaboration with the Embassy of Sweden in Beijing and Consulate General of Sweden in Hong Kong hosted a GBA Swedish Healthcare Delegation to Hong Kong and Shenzhen in May. Key learning from the delegation: • With China’s move to international accreditation recognition standard for hospitals, this creates opportunities for hospital management solutions which facilitate upgrade in hospitals to align with international standards and recognition. • Hong Kong Hospital Authority moves forward in promoting sustainable development of public healthcare system with continuous investment in healthcare facilities, technology and manpower to increase services capacity. • Medical cooperation is advancing in Greater Bay Area and more integration policies and platforms are in planning. Hong Kong remains the only place in the world where global advantage and China advantage come together in a single city. • The Hong Kong government is on track to establish regulatory system with long objective of establishing an internationally recognized authority that registered medical products under the "primary evaluation" approach based on clinical trial data without the need for prior approval by other regulatory authorities. To learn more about the opportunities in China and Hong Kong, contact Stacey S. and Judy Zhao. 香港中文大学(深圳)医学院 CUHK-Shenzhen MEDICINE | Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital | Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong | Hong Kong Adventist Hospital – Stubbs Road | Hong Kong Medical & Healthcare Device Industries Association | Mölnlycke Health Care | Vitrolife | Arjo | Perimed Inc. | Viedoc | Elekta | Bellman & Symfon Sverige #FocusAsia #BusinessSweden

Healthtech Innovation | Healthcare Collaboration | China Market Entry | China KOLs | Strategic Partnerships | Medical Devices & Laboratory Supplies Sourcing from China
A 3-week vacation can be considered long or short. Depends on how you look at it… 🌏 Just back shortly from a rejuvenating holiday in China - immersed in delicious food, cherished family time and social networking with friends, peers and relatives… Yet, amidst this personal retreat, China's current medical device market has refreshed my perception of it… 🎙️ I had the privilege of meeting some of the key figures in the Chinese Medtech ecosystem. I exchanged views with them and had informal discussions on how overseas medical devices companies can enter the Chinese market as well as issues related to Sino-European cooperation in medical technology. 🔍 Their insights were so pivotal that I felt compelled to capture and share them. These discussions crystallized for me just how rapidly technology progresses in China and the intensifying competitiveness of its markets, even in post-pandemic times. Their insights are very much in line with Mr. Ning Zhang and Dr. Yongjie Ma's views, whom I interviewed recently. This is where I think I should re-edit and summarize the previous interviews for a wider audience. 📝 Here’s what you’ll discover in this recap: - China’s current Medtech sector. - The integral role of KOLs in steering Medtech advances. - Future trends and challenges. - Essential platforms for innovation and collaboration. - Key strategies for Sino-European partnerships and market entry. 🤔 Why a Recap? Because these interviews aren't just talks; they're blueprints for any global thinker looking to explore or expand in China's Medtech sphere. 🤲 My Invitation to You: Join me in unpacking these insights. Let’s strategize on leveraging this knowledge to thrive within the vibrant and challenging landscape of Chinese Medtech. 🌟 With every trip to China, I return inspired, and this time, with actionable intelligence that could be your gateway to success. With the same joy I felt upon returning to Switzerland from China, I am now already looking forward to my next year's trip to China. Any questions? Remarks? Demands? Drop me a line anytime. #Medtech #MedtechInnovation #MedicalDevices #Clinicians #Surgeons #KOLs #SinoEuropeanPartnership #ChinaBusiness #ChineseMarket #Networking #Leadership #CEOInsights #MarketEntryStrategy #GlobalMindset #FamilyAndBusiness

📣 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘁: 𝗗𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗵-𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲 | 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 & 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 The healthcare system is facing major challenges. High costs, an ageing society and the increasing shortage of specialists can lead to serious consequences on both sides of the border. This can only be countered by new, innovative approaches. These include the use of artificial intelligence, advancing digitalization and significantly expanded prevention. This requires networking between science, business and healthcare providers. The healthcare systems in the Netherlands and Germany take different approaches, so close integration of the players on both sides of the border can make the best of both worlds and generate innovative impetus. The Dutch-German Business Dialogue on December 3rd, 2024 in Münster will provide a platform to discuss solutions for overcoming the challenges. The focus here will be on prevention in particular. Following a keynote speech by Prof. Dr. Alexander Friedrich, the subsequent panel discussion with companies from the MedTech and healthcare sector will offer all German and Dutch players a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and network. 📅 Tuesday 3 December 2024 ⏰ 15.00 - 18.30 hrs 📍 Universitätsklinikum Münster 📝 https://lnkd.in/ebJsZxdu Oost NL, Duits-Nederlandse Handelskamer (DNHK), Twente Board, World Trade Center Twente, MedTech Twente.
