One of my favourites players in Portugal National Team is Vitinha - For me, he can do almost everything on the pitch.
He excelled when he showed his whole package against Barcelona in the Champions League Quarter-finals.
In the Video Below you can see some of his Best Attributes:
1) Space Understanding - A) In terms of Carry into (00:11 with great first touch - half turn technique) B) Manipulation with Decision making in the final third when create GSA in Dembele's goal - pass timing (00:30).
2) Control the tempo&Positioning to recover and Retain Possession from deeper Zones (2nd Phase) - Passing Ability again. (00:47 - End)
3) Scanning Quantity and Quality (0.8 per second) that allows him react quick and execute actions.
I think he can be the hidden weapon of the Portuguese team in the tournament.

🔝 FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain FC stand out significantly among the European champions, surpassing the six-hundred million mark in staff costs.
⚖ They are also the only clubs among the champions, along with Galatasaray SK, exceeding the 70% recommended threshold of staff-costs-to-revenue ratio.
📊 It is worth noting that SSC Napoli’s staff costs, showcasing the lowest figure overall among the champions of “Big Five” leagues, are almost six times lower than FC Barcelona’s. Moreover, the club also achieved the lowest staff-costs-to-revenue ratio (40%) in the entire 16-club sample.

🤯 That's what happens when you price out real football fans and use the dreaded Dynamic Pricing...
Look at the difference between the attendance at Copa America and Euro 2024, with host country USA vs Uruguay on the left in front of a half-full Arrowhead Stadium.
If you were looking at going to Brazil vs Ecuador this is what it would cost you 👇
🎟 $198 ticket
💰 $49.95 ticket fees
🚗 $50 plus tax car parking
Over in the United States, CONMEBOL usually controls ticket sales for Copa America. However, on this occasion, it has passed the responsibility over to individual stadiums and their partners (Ticketmaster or Seatgeek), which has resulted in Dynamic pricing and these ridiculous fees...
How long before organisers realise that they might be able to sell 30,000 tickets at $200 but selling 60,000 at $100 will bring a much greater benefit in the long-term!

Brazil’s iconic Maracanã Stadium hosts the Copa Libertadores final this November 4, the most important game of the biggest football tournament in the continent, and one of the most awaited in recent history.
The Fluminense-Boca game will be the fifth single-match final since the two-legged, home-and-away format was abandoned, a move criticized by supporters who say the cup is being “Europeanized” by making events more costly (admittance fees rose by 380 percent since 2011).
Logistics shortcomings and hefty travel fees mean that South American cup finals have rarely been sold-out events. That should be different this time around, though.
The furor among Boca fans who still want to take part in the event means that between 50,000 and 150,000 of them could travel 2,600 kilometers to “invade” Rio this weekend, many of them with no tickets for the game.
The trip was even harsher for the fans and finalists of Copa Sudamericana, the region’s second-most prestigious tournament, which took place last weekend. Ecuador’s LDU and Northeastern Brazil’s Fortaleza had to travel between 5,000 and 6,000 km to a neutral venue in Uruguay, many of them by bus to avoid expensive airfares.
Would you travel that far to support your club? Let us know!

Wimbeldon, Tour de France and the Paris Olympics almost makes you forget about Euro 2024. A few things to remember...
➡ EURO 2024 will create a projected €935 million for the HatTrick programme over the next four years.
➡ This will be reinvested into the 55 national associations. that form part of the European federation
➡ The maximum amount of money a team could win is $30.43 million, according to UEFA, which occurs if a team wins all seven of its matches, which Spain did in 2024.
➡ With such a young squad, we look forward with anticipation to what Spain could achieve at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
➡ Will Spain repeat their 2010 heroics, by winning the World Cup after their 2008 EURO 2008 success?
➡ Real Madrid C.F. have won the Champions league as well. Are we in a Spanish cycling era of domination that we saw between 2008 and 2012?
Spain will be one of three countries hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup, with the Bernabéu announced as the stadium that will host the final.
Spanish travelling groups will be all over the football world, as their team's dominance is sure to be felt over the coming years. We look forward to hosting international working groups as we prepare for 2025 and 2026 events.

The UEFA EURO 2024 is heating up with some scintillating goals and a fervent atmosphere! While the FIFA Football World Cup remains the most watched sports event by far, the Euros also generate quite some excitement among football fans. Here are some interesting snippets (courtesy Business of Sport podcast) from the tournament that's taking place in Germany this time:
-The 2024 edition is the 17th edition of the tournament, with matches being held in 10 stadiums across the country
-The total prize money up for grabs is €331 million with the winners of the tournament receiving a total of €28.5m across all their games. Here's how it's broken up- Qualifying for the tournament gives a team €9.25m, winning each group game €1m, while reaching the knockout stages has a prize money of €1.5m. The prize money goes up significantly as the tournament progresses with the quarter-finalists receiving €2.5m & semis-finalists €4m with the runners-up and winners of the tournament receiving €5m and €8m respectively.
-England have the most expensive squad valued at €1.52 billion, followed by France at €1.23b and Portugal at €1.05b. Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe lead the player valuations, with an estimated €180m each.
-The tournament is expected to generate €2.4b in revenue for UEFA across media rights, commercial sponsorship, ticketing, hospitality with media rights contributing to almost half the total!
-Interestingly, the tournament should have a positive impact on Germany's economy which shrank 0.3% in 2023. Beer sales that are on a downward trend are expected to rebound, along with an increase in hospitality revenues and overall infrastructure upgrades that have been happening in preparation for the tournament.
-However, despite not hosting the tournament, the true economical benefactors might just be England! It's expected that a successful campaign (reaching the semis or the finals) could lead to spends of close to €2.75b in the country, with 80 million pints or €400m worth of beer being sold and 12 million people buying the most popular sports food- pizza!
Ask any football fan and they'll tell you that football is an emotion. It's also quite a business! Sharing a small clip of the Dutch football fans lining up the streets of Hamburg waiting for their team's first game!

Since I was kid, I've always loved to watch football matches "in loco", no matter the teams who are playing. For me, there is nothing like the stadium atmosphere: the pre-game experience, the energy of the fans, the players battle on the field... it’s kind a story being written in front my eyes.
I've already visited several stadiums around the world but each one of them has its own features and traditions. Recently, I had the opportunity to get know the Nou Sardenya, a small stadium located in the Vila de Gràcia neighborhood, in Barcelona. The home team CE Europa (4th tier of Spain) faced Elche CF (2nd tier of Spain) in the 1st round of the Copa del Rey. After a very intense match, the visitors won by 2-0.
However, the score was only a detail. The most fascinating thing was to witness the love of the Europa supporters (Los Escapulats) for their local team and the close relationship between the players and the community. When the match was over, the players of the youth categories joined the 1st team players on the pitch for a huge celebration with the fans.
Now you might be asking why they were celebrating if they got eliminated... I tell you, they were just celebrating the pride of belonging to the Club Esportiu Europa and everything that it represents in their lives. In the end, football is still much more than star players and millionaire revenues, it's about passion, it's about feeling! Like the Club slogan says: "El futbol que sents"

We all know there is no harder job in handball, or any other sport, than that of the referees. But what we do not know, is how the referees communicate on the court. How do they speak to the players? How do they speak to each other? What is the process they go through to reach correct decisions, especially in the modern era of video replays? How are those decisions explained to the players? Finally, we are able to find out, thanks to the new video series on YouTube that the EHF is proud to unveil; The Final Whistle. At EHF EURO 2024 in Germany, the referees were mic'd up for the first time at a major handball tournament. The Final Whistle, a five-episode series on the European Handball Federation YouTube channel, allows us to hear exactly what is being discussed on the court in the most crucial of moments. Each episode features a different match, providing an important insight into how elite level matches are officiated and a unique perspective into a match from its two most important people, both on-court and behind the scenes.
