SPARTANS AMONG US This last weekend we had 4 of our #Bedminster #team members unite for a Spartan Race! John Paciga and Roger Barlow are no stranger to these events as they always seem to be #training for the next one. Joining our seasoned #veterans in running up the mountain were Maggie Rogers and Kyle O'Neil. John always tells me that his favorite aspect of the race is that you get to #achieve something as a team. There is a #pride he takes in ensuring the #success of others, be it their first race or their fifth race. This #mindset is evident throughout our office. The #willingness to #help lift someone up, to #achieve their #potential and push past what they thought #possible. The view from the top is made even better with the right #company! WOW! 3 years have come and gone in the blink of an eye. It feels like yesterday I jumped feet first into a role that I really didn’t know what to expect. Sure, I had been on the other end of recruiting calls and really didn’t love that part of the experience, to be honest… But, the pandemic had shifted things for me and I decided why not entertain a conversation... and I am SO grateful I did. What interested me most was my conversations with Kim, Laura, Beth, and Katelynn (among others). What they had shared they loved about their career in recruiting thus far just happened to align with a few core values important to me: ✨Connecting with people✨ ▫️ This was a large reason why I left public accounting in the first place, and something I had lost in my yoga/fitness/retail sales journey during the pandemic, and missed greatly. ✨Helping others✨ ▫️ Coming from an accounting background, this holds a special place for me in an effort to ‘match’ organizations with finance and accounting talent they can retain for years to come. From a candidate perspective, the ability to bring opportunities to the table they may not have even known about or that align with what is most important to them in their life today. ✨Emphasis on a team environment and focusing on long-term relationships (versus short-term gains)✨ ▫️ You win some, you lose some’ – one of my favorite quotes and it never feels good to ‘lose’, but with my background in teaching yoga it is an easy one to lean on when you focus on the big picture, focus on nurturing relationships, and focus on the idea that what you put out into the world will return itself to you in dividends. ▫️So for today - no job postings, no market insights, nothing to share here other than an appreciation for Truity Partners, my team, and to those I have had the good fortune to cross paths with along the way… THANK YOU for entertaining my cold calls, for laughing along with me in my voicemails, for getting honest on what's important to you, for your trust, and for so much more to come. I stumbled across my original cover letter from 15 March 2017 when I first applied to Elsby 🗓 ✨ It read: "Elsby attracts me because of the smaller nature of the firm with large ambitions and the support and emphasis given to employees to become all-rounded individuals. The care for clients is as important as employees, and the focus on personal as well as professional development shows me an ambitious firm that I would be proud to be part of." ⌛ Seven years later, I am excited to say that my observations have held true. Elsby has consistently demonstrated its commitment to growth, and my career journey is great proof of that, as well as that of others around me.
