Today, Sizewell C has announced its agreement with three sites at ABP's ports of Lowestoft and Ipswich, which will be used for the storage of construction materials, as the project prepares for the start of construction. The agreement highlights how ABP’s ports in East Anglia are ideal as key hubs for handling construction materials and play a key role in more sustainable supply chains. The movement of significant volumes of cargo by rail and sea is a vital step in reducing the number of trucks on local roads. We look forward to developing our partnership with Sizewell C to further support the construction of this strategic asset for the UK. https://lnkd.in/ewWspXmA #supplychain #construction #energy

My personal thanks to all ABP & EDF SZC colleagues who have worked tirelessly to make this happen. Our partnership will ensure we can both realise our commitments for a sustainable supply chain.

Unfortunately, we will always be playing catchup for disastrous past policies, of the politically motivated policies that Dr. Beeching is generally blamed for. The current conversations around HS2, are in danger of this mistake being repeated, so any announcement like this is most welcome.
