PT Arkora Hydro Malili, which is a subsidiary of PT Arkora Hydro Tbk (ARKO), on December 21, 2023, signed an electricity purchase and sale agreement with PT Perusahaan Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero)/PLN.
This electricity sales and purchase agreement involves PT Arkora Hydro Malili in utilizing mini-hydro power resources, which produce a total power of 10 MW. The term of this contract is 25 years with a BOOT (build own operate transfer) scheme. This project is located in South Sulawesi and is expected to provide significant benefits to the broader community in terms of electricity use.
Arkora Hydro President Director Aldo Artoko said the new contract with PLN will have a positive impact on future business. "We are proud to announce the signing of a new contract, which will have a positive impact in moving the company's business forward. This contract is the result of our team's hard work and dedication and is a significant step in strengthening the company's position in the market.
This partnership marks essential steps for the company. It provides significant benefits for the company's fundamental aspects, such as business growth, by creating new opportunities for business expansion as well as strengthening ARKO's presence in the market. By utilizing renewable energy resources, ARKO actively contributes to providing electricity not only for the South Sulawesi region but also for all of Indonesia so that it can improve the welfare of local communities and encourage economic development.
Our participation in this project shows our commitment to sustainable programs and environmental responsibility, in line with PT. "State Electricity Company (Persero) and global efforts to combat climate change," said Aldo. In addition, with this agreement, ARKO and its subsidiaries have a power plant contract with a total capacity of 42.8 MW (growing 30.5%) and a total pipeline of 200 MW, thus strengthening ARKO's position as part of the renewable energy market. "This portfolio of assets increases our contribution to providing growing energy needs and drives our dedication to a sustainable clean energy future.”
Aldo hopes that ARKO's contribution to the renewable energy sector can be part of the solution to current global environmental challenges. "We hope this collaboration will be a real example of how the private sector and government can work together to create positive change in our society and environment. "Together, we can create a greener and more sustainable future for future.”
