𝗚𝗮𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗴𝗮𝘀 𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 Gas Malaysia Bhd’s wholly owned subsidiary, Gas Malaysia Virtual Pipeline Sdn Bhd (GMVP), is partnering Greenviro Solutions Sdn Bhd, in which GMVP will procure biomethane generated at the Ampang Jajar Waste Transfer Station in Penang, injecting it into Gas Malaysia’s Natural Gas Distribution System (NGDS). This is part of Gas Malaysia’s commitment to align with the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), which aims to increase the country’s installed renewable energy (RE) capacity to 40% by 2035 and to 70% by 2050. The recently held groundbreaking ceremony marked the commencement of the construction of the Ampang Jajar Waste Transfer Station, attended by Seberang Perai Mayor Datuk Azhar Arshad and Local Government, Town and Country Planning Committee chairman H’ng Mooi Lye. The Ampang Jajar Waste Transfer Station will be operated by Greenviro and it is anticipated to be operational by the second half of 2025 (2H25). In line with this vision, Gas Malaysia has commenced its decarbonisation journey by adding more impetus to the development of cleaner energy sources through its green gas venture.
