Check out this new application of tomographic techniques: Computed Axial Lithography - developed by the University of Berkeley. Why wait for your additive part to be printed layer by layer? Why not print it all at once. Simply fire a projection video at it while it's rotating, synchronized with the rotation and watch the volume grow out of the gel? Amazing!
