The Charlotte Knights recently hosted two fundraisers for Atrium Health, demonstrating their commitment to patients and families in our community: ⛳ The team swapped out their bats for clubs at the annual Charlotte Knights Charities Golf Classic, raising a record-breaking $41,613 to support renovations to the rehabilitation therapy playroom at Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital. 🌷 In partnership with Charlotte Radiology, the Charlotte Knights hosted the annual Pink Knights game at Truist Field. The special event honored breast cancer survivors and raised $27,544 for Levine Cancer: Project PINK, helping to ensure women in our community have access to screening mammograms. When it comes to giving back, this team always steps up to the plate, and for that we're truly grateful!

Self-Published Author of “Killing Cancer with TILs”. Inspirational Speaker, Autologous CELL Therapy Proof Of Concept for Solid Tumors, Rare Melanoma Survivor Thriver & Advocate, Clinical Trial Volunteer, & Giver of Hope
I worked for almost 10 years for the Golf department at a private country club which were some of the best 10 years of my life from 2006-2016. The relationships I formed and the life lessons I’ve learned, have shaped me to who I am today and I’m forever grateful for those experiences. I mentioned this because I’d love to be playing in this tournament tomorrow, but I’m not but I’m hopeful for next year. As a #RareCancer survivor myself, I credit my cure to the therapy that actually eradicated my terminal #Cancer from a single one time #AutologousCellTherapy using my own #TIL or #TumorInfiltratingLymphoyctes. These type of novel #AdvancedCellTherapies which use a patient’s own specific cells to fight back the ones that go rogue and mutate, not only saved my life, but is also the same concept that is changing the future of #RareDisease. I do not work in philanthropy or the #CGT industry specifically but I do follow this space very closely. The world of #CellTherapy is so much more than just the cure for #SolidTumors or #HematologicCancers, but also the answer to autoimmune diseases like #RheumatoidArthritis and #Diabetes as well. The data is out there with studies and clinical trials. Over the past 4 1/2 years as I’ve been navigating survivorship and recovery, finding a sense of community has been more of a challenge than I thought it would be. I’ve never been in this position before so I didn’t know what to expect but I am mission focused. Instead of being disease focused, I have concentrated my efforts on treatment and therapy focused spaces which has led me to connect with the Emily Whitehead Foundation. As a needle in a haystack, it’s tough to find other needles and with so few, sometimes they are hard to find. Cheers to everyone playing in tomorrow’s tournament and God bless all the players and sponsors in their support for Teeing Off For T-Cells! ⛳️🏌️♂️ #CellTherapy #EndCancer #Melanoma #MetastaticMelanoma #MalignantMelanoma #MucosalMelanomaSurvivor #TIL #ClinicalTrials #TumorInfiltratingLymphocytes
We are teeing up for our 10th annual Tee Off for T-Cells tomorrow! Our 10th Annual Tee-Off for T-Cells golf tournament presented by CNB Bank is a family-friendly fundraising event in Philipsburg that supports families fighting childhood cancer and raises awareness and funding for advanced therapies like immunotherapy. The event has raised almost $450,000 over the last nine years, and your support can help make this the year we cross $500,000! Thank you to all of our 2024 sponsors for helping us #ActivateTheCure. You can still support this year's event by making a donation to the Foundation. https://lnkd.in/eu5wiKs

This is not just a story about the best breakfast - it’s a story about a best friend (who needs help for the worst reason). Almost every morning I eat toast with banana and peanut butter. It’s been at least ten years and I’m not sick of it (and hope I never will be). If you haven’t tried it, consider this your wake-up call. And just so you know, I always slice up the banana in rounds and lay them out like this (I promise this will matter later): [OOOO] [OOOO] [OOOO] One of the perks of a best friend is you can stay with them when you’re in town, and they’ll offer to pick up your favorite breakfast foods and snacks. (Or is it just that my friends and I really care about food??) That’s exactly what happened a couple of years ago when I was in New York and stayed with Devin Bramhall. I let her know about the banana and toast situation, and of course she made sure to have some on hand. What happened next absolutely blew me away. Ever-thoughtful Devin, of course, had toast ready and waiting for me when I woke up. I was so thrilled (I'm a post-hibernation bear cub in the morning) - then I looked at the plate and my jaw dropped. [( )( )( )] [( )( )( )] [( )( )( )] Devin had made peanut butter toast with bananas in a way I had *never seen before*. She sliced the banana lengthwise (kind of hard to tell from my crummy text art up there) and laid it out in neat rows across the toast. 🤯🤩 She had shown me an entirely new angle on something I saw every day. I think about this now almost every time I make this breakfast for myself, because it encapsulates so much of what I love about Devin - she is unendingly kind and generous and would do anything for her friends. But she is also the most creative person I have ever met and approaches everything with a totally new perspective. You will always encounter the unexpected with Devin. Now, Devin is facing the unexpected herself - an incredibly rare form of ovarian cancer. Treatment has made it difficult for her to work and support herself, so it’s our turn to support her. An amazing lineup of marketers is teaming up to put on a fundraiser for Devin, taking place on Monday. Sign up or donate below, it will go such a long way. Register now: jayacunzo.com/devin And don't forget to try this breakfast. I swear, it's the best (and so is Devin).

This is my ninth year participating in the annual Great Cycle Challenge to raise money to fight children’s cancer. Cancer in children is different from cancers that develop later in adults. As a result, the side effects of typical adult cancer treatments cause more harm to children because children’s bodies are still growing and developing. One in five children diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. will not survive, and for those who do, by the age of fifty, more than 99% of survivors had a chronic health problem, and 96% have experienced a severe or life-threatening condition. Unfortunately, funding for childhood cancer is less than 10 percent of the dollars the federal government makes available for research into adult cancers which is why raising funds is so important. One in four families lose more than 40% of their annual household income because of childhood cancer treatment-related work disruption, while one in three families face other work disruptions such as having to quit or change jobs. Please donate to my ride by visiting https://lnkd.in/gpaA9A5.

Interesting statistics as we quickly approach the back half of 2024: - 12% of all nonprofit giving happens within the last few days of the year - 28% of nonprofits raise up to 50% of their annual donations during year-end campaigns - 30% of all nonprofit donations happen during the month of December How do you support your preferred charities? If you participate in Giving Tuesday, what is your motivation? My motivation is the great organizations I get to support through donating to charity teams like Imerman Angels. This year I'm starting Giving Tuesday early by kicking off fundraising for the 2024 Chicago Marathon via Team Imerman. Their mission is to provide comfort and understanding for all cancer fighters, survivors, previvor, and caregivers through a personalized one-on-one connection with someone who has been there. Imerman Angels envisions a world where cancer is not a solitary experience.

This spirit of service, instilled in me by my Lolo, has served as the cornerstone of my journey in making a difference in the lives of others,” says Isabella. The fundraiser has had over 1,000 participants and raised over $30,000 for #StandUpToCancer. 🧡 THANK YOU, Smash Cancer Loyola, for your contribution to SU2C’s mission! 100% of your donations received supports Stand Up To Cancer and our collaborative cancer research programs – bringing new treatments to patients now.

The past week has been one of the toughest in my life, last Tuesday my 29 year old brother Jack was diagnosed with cancer. He was born with cerebral palsy, but despite this has the best attitude and positivity towards life. People know Jack as a charismatic, cheeky, out going person who over the past 10 years has volunteered and ran clubs around our village. Since the diagnosis I have decided to run a 12 hour darts charity marathon event at the Broughton Astley conservative Club this Sunday to try and help with anything additional he may need during treatment, which starts in two weeks. My aim is to raise £1000 some of which will also go to Macmillan Cancer Support If you are able to come along and play darts or donate in the link below that would be amazing. It is starting at 10am till 10pm. https://lnkd.in/eT6cqWBD
Help raise £1000 to help Jack who has recently been diagnosed with cancer.
