#ICYMI the Maryland Governor's Workforce Development Board hosted its September quarterly public meeting a few weeks ago! It was a highly productive gathering with impactful decisions and exciting updates. A few highlights: 🔌 The Industry Partnership Committee shared plans to build a statewide #sectorstrategy model and #jobquality framework to inform State investments and help ensure Maryland’s talent pipeline is industry-led, demand-driven, and stays focused on advancing accessible pathways to work, wages and wealth at the same time. 🛣 We approved the Local & Regional Workforce Planning Guidance for Maryland's 13 local workforce development boards. This will help local boards align their efforts with the state's broader vision and goals, ensuring strategy translates into action at the community level. You can find our guidance and templates on our policy page: https://lnkd.in/eCcX7x9q 📈 The Maryland Department of Labor presented its strategy to expand Registered Apprenticeships in high-demand sectors identified in the Board's State Workforce Plan, like healthcare and IT. The focus is on increasing employer engagement, streamlining processes, boosting staff capacity and offering incentives to scale apprenticeship programs statewide. 🔄 The CTE Expert Review Team (ERT) is gearing up to visit schools and assess district CTE programs. Their goal is to evaluate how well these programs align with industry needs and educational goals, identifying strengths, challenges, and opportunities for improvement. 📢 We previewed an exciting new partnership with the Annie E.
