Catherine Austin of Austin Benefits Group had a vision last year to assemble back-to-school backpacks for children in our community. This year, with the support of our amazing team members, clients, and local business owners, we exceeded our goal and more than doubled the number of backpacks donated to Orchards Children's Services Inc. and Spaulding for Children. We want to extend our deepest gratitude to all the companies that donated additional supplies, enabling us to purchase even more backpacks and supplies for the children, thereby making our 2nd Annual Austin Benefits Backpack Drive a massive success. Your contributions have profoundly impacted the lives of hundreds of children in our community. The power of community and social media working together is evident. Thank you for your dedication to this cause and for embodying the spirit of giving that truly defines our organization. We look forward to continuing our partnership with you as we strive to make a positive difference for years to come. #AustinBenefits #BackpackDrive #BackToSchool #Community #Support #GiveBack #Children Edcor Kasco Construction LLC. What is the value of ”Take Your Daughter to Work Day? We think it is education and empathy, so the child knows what the parent does daily, but it is so much more. It instills lifelong work values. Meahgan Gibson attended a “Take Your Daughter to Work Day” at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. To this day she reminds me of a few choice words I stated during a staff meeting but she also pursued a career in Leisure and Hospitality. More importantly she picked up values like; everybody is critical to success (especially the lowest paid hourly associates), every person has a story, treat people with dignity and respect, and if they have a name tag, user their name. Grow by trying new things that others shy away from. Powerful words are “thank you” and “can you help me”, and assisting others even if you do not have time. Today this was in my feed. I had no idea she was working on this. Biscuits and socks, who knew? But more importantly, a young professional (from a generation many professionals belittle) leading a project that reflects well on the brand and does good for the community. Also hats off to Dennis Pfaff, Maple Street Biscuit Company and Cracker Barrel for creating an organization culture where young professional growth occurs. Take your daughter to work and as a leader, your relationships matter more than you know. #cio #leadership
TLDR: I've been working on something pretty cool! "The Maple Street Mantra: Help People, Serve Others, Be A Part Of The Community" is why I joined the team. I'm grateful to Maple Street Biscuit Company for allowing me to take on something so near and dear to who we are. *Maple Street Silly Socks* a portion of sock sales will go directly to LifeQuest Organ Recovery Services and U.F. Health, supporting their incredible work to maximize the Gift of Life through organ and tissue donation. This is particularly meaningful because giving back has always been a big part of who I am. From working with the Miami Children's Initiative during my time at the University of Florida to my work with the Harrison County Community Foundation, I've seen firsthand the impact we can make when we come together. Your support means the world and will help create positive change in our community. P.S. The socks are pretty cool as well https://lnkd.in/gKJnfwB6

Santo 203 “Secret Snowflakes” Educators, together we can create a world where giving is the norm by providing creative opportunities for students. Our fifth grade students embraced the idea of becoming a “Secret Snowflake” by gifting to community members. One by one the Secret Snowflakes joined to form a blizzard of generosity to our neighbors and local charitable organizations. *Some took time to bake and deliver delicious goodies to neighbors *Others choose to donate to charities online. *Some handpicked gifts destined for the local Children's Hospital. *Others gave to Toys for Tots After the event, a lively discussion took place as students shared their “secret” with classmates. Reflections echoed the research of M. Ames who emphasizes that spending time enriching your community broadens your perceptions of the world. Immersing yourself in a community dedicated to positive change teaches you valuable lessons about how the world works and fosters a unique sense of purpose that often extends to other areas of your life. “The heart of the giver makes the gift dear and precious." - Luther. How do you cultivate a learning environment that not only imparts knowledge but also nurtures compassionate hearts, fostering a generation that understands the true value of giving? #VolunteerImpact #CommunityEngagement #StudentLeadership

"Some of us can afford to support some part of the vast network of charities that of one our former presidents called 'a thousand points of light.' Those points of light are best seen, like stars at dusk, against a darkening sky." - Timothy Snyder, On Tyranny Being on LinkedIn, we are the ones who "can afford" even a small gift to benefit our most vulnerable neighbors. One of those thousand points of light is HumanKind, a non-profit serving the state of Virginia that believes community well-being starts with a solid foundation for EVERYONE. As you think about your year-end giving, please consider even just a $35 gift to support our First Night Backpack program for children transitioning into Foster Care. When kids are removed from a home, they often only have a few moments to throw a few things into a trash bag. They arrive to a new home with possibly not a single personal item. Take a moment to really let that sink in. Your gift would help a kid to transition into safety during such a tumultuous and confusing time. Being able to have a few essentials and the ability to carry them in an overnight bag, allows them a sense of ownership and dignity that they may not otherwise have during this time of instability. Your gift will also be DOUBLED due to a matching sponsor if you give by 12/31! Double your impact FOR A CHILD today. https://lnkd.in/e4eCHTh3

DLP Capital is all about housing. And for many, a house is emblematic of family. But in some parts of the world, children never get to know much of either. That’s why the DLP Positive Returns Foundation is going the extra mile (well, more like 2,540 miles, to be exact) to help out orphaned teens in Guatemala City. These are teens who, for the most part, have never known a home as they near adulthood. Through the non-profit organization Transforming Futures, orphaned teens and others without stable homes are taught life skills, provided healthy meals, and offered spiritual guidance… Keep reading: https://lnkd.in/efttykS3

I’ve been quiet…it’s weirding people out. But here’s why: 2-3% of children in the USA don't have beds. They sleep on the floor in piles of clothes or blankets or…whatever they can get. And for six months, we've been quietly strategizing how to help change that statistic. Check it out: Kristin and I just launched Luff Sheets, where every sheet set sold *also* means a new set of sheets donated to organizations that build beds for kids. People need sheets, the kids need sheets. It’s a win/win and a more meaningful approach to retail therapy. Not only are the sheets incredibly comfortable and buttery (we don’t sleep on anything else anymore), but holy sugar…we had no idea the demand for donated sheets. It’s huge. Collectively, these organizations need thousands of sheet sets each year. We hope to soon be delivering them by the pallet load soon! - Sleep in Heavenly Peace - Buildingbeds.org (part of BridgePoint Church FL) - Building Beds 4 Kids - Beds for Kids - And more to follow…it’s overwhelming. If you know other organizations in need, have them reach out! Link below 😀 In celebration of our launch, we’re DOUBLING our donation for all preorders between now and February 29th. Not only that, but take 15% off using code 4THEKIDS. Join us in our mission to make bedtime better for children across the country. Maybe you’re not in the market for sheets, but if you’re the kind of person who wants to spread the good around, we’d love it if you liked and shared. Thank you! #LuffSheets #donate #dogood #newbeginnings

Partnerships are the foundation of every successful CAC.
We were absolutely delighted to receive a check from Medford Food Co-op last week as their chosen Positive Change recipient for May. Huge thanks to Medford Food Co-op and all the kind-hearted shoppers who made this donation possible! Being selected as the Positive Change recipient for May was an honor, and we are so grateful for the support. The funds received will go a long way in ensuring that we can continue to offer safe and nurturing spaces, as well as highly trained staff, for the children in our direct service programs. Once again, thank you for your incredible support! #ChildAdvocacy #CommunityFirst #ShopLocal

For many families, a diaper is not just a diaper. It's a crucial necessity that can determine whether a child can attend early childhood programs or not. Unfortunately, diaper insecurity is a harsh reality for far too many caregivers in our state. Listen to Brightpoint’s Policy Manager, Eric Mayo, talk about diaper need and policy solutions that will help families throughout Illinois. Read more about Diaper Insecurity here, https://lnkd.in/gzi-f5Hv. For $10 a month, you will support our efforts to eliminate diaper insecurity for Illinois infants and young children! Together, we can make a lasting impact and ensure that no child in Illinois suffers from diaper insecurity.
