Navigating the Lifecycle of Sokudo Electric’s Advanced Electric Vehicles! The journey of an EV begins with the extraction of raw materials and extends to end-of-life recycling and disposal. As an electric two-wheeler manufacturer, I can tell you that each phase of this cycle has its significance and challenges. At Sokudo, our strategy begins with sourcing essential materials such as lithium, cobalt, and nickel, particularly for battery production. Since India is not a major producer of these minerals, we innovate battery technologies to reduce our operations’ dependence on imports. Meanwhile, working with local suppliers helps us ensure we maintain ethical and sustainable practices. While manufacturing, we focus on efficiency and sustainability. For instance, our EVs such as Acute 2.2 and Select 2.2 offer clean alternatives to conventional vehicles, with zero emission and lower running costs benefits. Over its operational life, our scooters can help save up to 1.5 tonnes of CO2 per year compared to a scooter that runs on petrol. Eventually, we come to the end of life where our inclination to use eco-friendly and recyclable materials comes in handy to ensure proper disposal and recycling processes. Currently, we are also exploring battery repurposing for energy storage solutions, and I believe such efforts will help us maximize utility while reducing waste. This includes test with different alternative drive technologies: Contargo and Remondis are putting electric trucks to the test, the former also investing in building the largest private charging network for heavy-duty e-trucks.
