Nowadays, many companies claim to be tech companies, but are they truly, or are they simply using new technologies within their traditional business models? The distinction seems subtle, it's actually a difference between two entirely different worlds. Many people are surprised to learn that Flix is a tech company, not just a typical bus company. In fact, our entire business is built on technology developed in-house by our teams. By prioritizing technology from the start, before buses and trains, we’ve been able to structure our entire organization and business model in a much leaner and more flexible way. This "internal kitchen" has a significant impact on the quality of the product we offer our customers in many areas, including: ✅ Network and schedule optimization ✅ More affordable prices ✅ A user-friendly booking system ✅ A bus-tracking feature ("Find My Bus") ✅ Advanced safety systems And many more innovations working in the background. You can find a link to our discussion with WNP and Adrian Ołdak covering this topic in detail in the comments below. When speaking with bus operators and industry players, it’s clear that adding these systems on top of a traditional, old-school business model would not only be costly and time-consuming but, in many cases, nearly impossible. The entire process would need to be reimagined. During our startup phase, we made the leap to this new tech-driven dimension early on. This work is far from over. It will continue alongside our business development. We have new tools, especially AI-based, to integrate into our processes. Thanks to the foundation laid by our tech teams over the past years, we're confident we can continue delivering even more sustainable value to our customers in the near future! #TechTravel #Mobility

So incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to contribute towards building Government Tomorrow Forum the past few months. Aside from a great team under Igor Lys leadership, this has also been a time of unparalleled learning and broadening of perspective on a range of topics - in this case, mobility. I cannot agree more with the point mentioned by Mr.Rõivas on the challenge posed by excessive ownership of personal vehicles. This is something I deeply resonate with coming from India, where the ability to buy a personal vehicle is oftentimes an indication of wealth and signals social mobility whilst the reality is that the infrastructure simply cannot cope with the number of vehicles on the road, not to mention the obvious air pollution related negative outcomes. The future of mobility must be one that encourages uptake of public transport systems and less ownership of personal vehicles, undoubtedly this will need work on both the policy and innovation front, something I see both Government Tomorrow Forum & Auve Tech being deeply involved in.
"The fundamental pattern of human mobility —tending towards more movement rather than less — shows no signs of reversing" In this extensive interview with the Forum, Taavi Rõivas — former Prime Minister of Estonia (2014-2016) and currently the Chairman of the Board of Auve Tech — discusses with Government Tomorrow Forum the main challenges of modern-day mobility. He argues that private-led innovation comes first and regulations must follow, and that the global shift away from privately owned cars is all but inevitable. What do you think the mobility of tomorrow looks like?

Last week it finally happened – meeting with LYYLI in Tampere. What a lady! Lyyli is a unique test tram in the whole world! Our Los Angeles delegation had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience an autonomous test drive with Lyyli. Lyyli tram is part of the “Lyyli Living Lab” environment, which enables the testing, experimentation and development of various solutions related to urban mobility in a real operating environment. During our Lyyli visit, Ali Huttunen from Tampereen Raitiotie Oy/ Tampere Tramway Ltd. informed us that the main goal of Lyyli Living Lab project is to enable new services offered to passengers and innovations and technological experiments that improve the travel experience in a test train operating in normal traffic. Business Finland is actively participating and funding this Lyyli project - SmartRail#3. The project is also part of Business Finland's Decarbonized Cities program. The consortium includes companies and stakeholders like Škoda Group, GIM Robotics, PayiQ, Moovy, Nodeon, Solita, Tietoevry, Tampereen kaupunki - City of Tampere, Liikenne- ja viestintävirasto Traficom / Transport- och kommunikationsverket Traficom, Tampere University of Applied Sciences, Business Tampere and VTT, which is acting as coordinator of the joint project. In total, more than 30 organizations are involved in this Lyyli Living Lab project. This project is an excellent example of the close cooperation within several actors. The results of this project will be used both to implement a user-friendly and safely automated urban mobility as well as to generate new business, business-led growth, exports and new jobs. Our Los Angeles business delegation was extremely interested in the Finnish state-of-the-art solutions within the urban mobility sector. Los Angeles is on a mission to electrify transportation by the 2028 Summer Olympics. For example, the second-largest metro region in the nation aims to become a clean transportation leader ahead of the 2028 Olympics. Relevant business opportunities will be analyzed within Finnish and Los Angeles companies – Stay tuned! Lyyli – lajinsa ensimmäinen. Lyyli – the first of its’ kind. #TeamFinland #BusinessFinland #Export #Innovation

In a delightful meeting filled with purpose and passion, Dr. Giulia Tufaru engaged in a profound conversation with the inspiring minds behind Autonom Drive - Troacă Teodora - Nicoleta, Elena Miu, and APAIR's Monica Necula. This encounter went beyond discussions about current business initiatives; it became a platform for sharing personal experiences among driven individuals, mothers, and women shaping the landscape of entrepreneurship. Autonom Drive a visionary venture, unveiled its groundbreaking #service, #BLUE, on November 21, 2023. Representing a new era in ride-hailing services in the Bucharest area, BLUE emerged as a result of a significant investment exceeding 5 million euros. The initial fleet comprises 100 electric vehicles, including Tesla Model 3 and Model Y, with plans to double the available vehicles by the end of the coming year. BLUE caters to both individuals and businesses, boasting a business platform designed to minimize bureaucracy and generate a consolidated invoice. The pillars of APAIR, the Professional Association of #RealEstate Agents in Romania, were also highlighted during the conversation. Upholding a strong Code of Ethics, APAIR emphasizes respect for clients, the public, and colleagues in the industry. Their commitment to education, continuous learning, the Multiple Listing Service (MLS), market information, and collaboration underscores their dedication to benefiting clients and maintaining the highest professional standards. In the midst of this engaging dialogue, the concept of ImpACT Giving emerged as a beacon of social change. Functioning as a social #impact marketplace, ImpACT Giving connects companies with meaningful social initiatives. Their mission is clear: to empower businesses to contribute to social and environmental causes. Offering #consultancy, impact measurement and reporting, and donor data management services, ImpACT Giving aims to make social impact accessible and effective for companies of all sizes and types. As Dr. Giulia Tufaru, Autonom Drive, and APAIR converge in this dynamic exchange, it becomes evident that the future of business is not just about profitability but also about meaningful contributions to society. Together, they exemplify the transformative power of collaboration, shared values, and a commitment to creating a positive impact on both a local and global scale.
