Age is just a number! These bearings were from the TSS Earnslaw and were 111 years old when Alloy Bearings had the pleasure of refurbishing them! The TSS Earnslaw has been sailing Lake Wakatipu in New Zealand since 1912 and has even carried Royalty 👑 with the Queen and Prince Philip travelling onboard in the 1990's, so Alloy Bearings had to ensure the job we do is fit for a king! The fly ash is separated from the flue gas via electrostatic precipitators or baghouse filters and collects in the hoppers below the filters. Depending on the quality or other properties, the ash is transported to a fly ash silo via a pneumatic transport line. The Boreas is now finally in the habitat where it belongs, the sea! 🌊 The Boreas fits in with our sustainability ambitions: it is the first of its kind to be able operate on the future fuel methanol, and the vessel will be equipped with a cutting-edge active emissions control technology to reduce the NOx emission to an absolute minimum. An about 6,000 kWh battery pack can take peak loads and regenerate energy to reduce the fuel consumption and corresponding emissions even further. ⬇️ Next up will be the installation of the main crane and the extension of the legs of the jack-up vessel.
