🧐 #MeetTheSpeaker! 🧠 From understanding noncoding RNAs to exploring circular RNAs as potential therapeutic tools, Irene Bozzoni’s research (Sapienza Università di Roma, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia) aims to reshape ALS treatment. "The major breakthrough will come in the future trying to learn more about these non-canonical functions of RNA and try to convert these RNAs or to engineer them in order to make them powerful tools to be utilized in therapy, which means being able to control gene expression in a sequence-specific manner."

This week, we are recognising the global Primary Immunodeficiency (PI or PID) community to raise awareness for World PI Week. The theme for this year is ‘Access to care for all PID patients, everywhere.’ Primary immunodeficiencies are rare diseases that occur when the immune system is either absent or does not function properly. When a defect in the immune system is inherited genetically, it is called primary immunodeficiency. There are over 450 forms of primary immunodeficiency with varying degrees of severity.
